I think this is perfectly done too. The jazzy baseline is fabulous and everyone’s performance is so moving.

Voiceplay just can sing anything. Soft, tough, futuristic, you name it. And they will never, ever, do bad. I am by now firmly convinced of that. Even if the arrangement or the song would not be 100% my choice, their sheer musicality would make listening to it all worthwile. I tend to cry over harmonies more often than over lyrics, but mostly when I hear them sung live - either because they are so beautiful or because they are so dreadful that they hurt my brain. I hence tend to avoid live concerts. Anyway, I am quite sure that if I should ever hear Voiceplay live, I'll just have to cry because they're so freaking good, and I'd do that gladly anytime. (Btw.: Someone said already that EJ is the brother of Omar Cardona, a recurrent guest to VoicePlay (and Omar is Cesar's best friend), so this is how things are connected. Apparently the Cardona family is very musically gifted.)

You can always trust VP to brings the feels. They are as amazing on the theatrical side as on the singing. Their arrangements can excite, calm, or tug on the heartstrings. They can do it all. It's why we love them.

I don't think there is EVER a dry eye in the house when listening to this... it is so charged with emotion plus most people can relate. I think Cesar recommended the song and Geoff arranged it. EJ Cardona is part of Voctave and the brother of Omar Cardona whom VP works with quite a lot. Thank you for doing this one - showcases VP's incredible talents even without theatrics (did you notice no-one looks at the camera and they are all in separate rooms?) 🌹🕊

I was crying right along with ya. Geoff said that as he was editing and putting this one together, he was crying as well. I completely agree that this cover is better than the original on sooo many levels. The emotion is so raw, and it is such a powerful song. great rection to my fellow Georgia Bulldog!!

Geoff has said on Patreon that he cried editing the video. It got to him so much. I would worry about anyone who did not cry watching this. They pull this off so well that I have to remind myself that except for Cesar, they all are very happily married & got their gals. Thank you for reacting to this one. Reminds me how beautiful it is and how I need to listen to it more often.

Well, I did not cry, but I am feeling perfectly sane, thank you. This aside, it is a very moving song and I loved the arrangement and the melancholia and sadness it brought along.

This is VoicePlay's quiet masterpiece. I will always recommend it. Love it, it's simply gorgeous. EJ Cardona is Omar Cardona's brother and a member of Voctave. Cesar lobbied for VoicePlay to do this and so glad he did the first verse, and you are right, it's perfect. Geoff said when he was pulling this song together - he was crying too. EJ Cardona has done Go the Distance (Hercules) with VoicePlay if you want to hear him do something else.

Voiceplay really knows how to play with your emotions. If I'm remembering correctly it Cesar's suggestion to do this song. Cry all you need, you're not alone. Everyone needs a good cry just to release the emotional build up. (And of course I can't find a box of tissues emoji to give you)

Cesar makes me cry 😭😭 every time. Then Geoff hits us with that sultry bass of his. My 💔 Breaks. Geoff said there was much weeping during the editing.

I think Kleenex stock went up when Voiceplay released this cover. EJ Cardona sings with the a cappella group Voctave, and is brother to Omar Cardona.

Wonderful reaction. Another one of their real tear inspiring songs is "Heart of Life" the first video after Earl retired from the group. EJ also is in "Go the Distance" and his wife's group The American Sirens have a Christmas video with Geoff "Mele Kalikimaka" on his channel.

EJ is Omar's (Dream On and Blackhole Sun) brother, he sings with Voctave, an acapella choir. This is Geoff's arrangement which means he made all the decisions about the video. This is the only one where they do not appear together at all. They recorded an ending with them all out on the back porch at sunset, but it didn't have the right feeling. I loved the decision not to have any of them to look into the camera. Cesar couldn't stop himself from giving us a little side eye. We love it when Layne sings. I completely agree with your reaction.

Weird that on your thumbnail you have the photo for the "Halo Theme" cover with Scott Porter, which has nothing to do with this song.
