@@arcadegeekstop being petty! They deserved some credit for that high performance. People tend to forget that, just focusing on the main singer. Without an excellent team backing up for the artist, the show wouldn’t be that great.

IDK how Yebba remains one of the most underrated artists of our time. The only explanation is that she is so advanced, it'll be YEARS before she is fully appreciated. She brings me closer to God than Ive ever felt. Time.Stands.Still.

*This is utterly sad;* I just found out that her mom committed suicide after Abbey's performance of "My Mind". She changed her name to Yebba shortly after and made this song as a tribute to her; and even sang this in the church her mother attended. May she rest in peace.

Just taking the time to credit the backup singers AND Yebba herself for having background singers in the first place. It’s a dying profession (people tend to just re-record themselves singing backup parts) and severely underappreciated. That extra beat in the chorus after the second "wait for me", the "yeah yeah yeah" bit... such a small little detail, but that timing syncopation is simply spectacular. Little details like that help set Yebba apart in such a clever and brilliant way. I feel like so many good singers are emulating the sound of the times, but Yebba is comfortable bringing her whole self to her music, and the uniqueness really shines through. Subtle, but unignorable. She conveys the mood of her songs like few I've ever heard. Amazing song, amazing vocalist, engaging performer... you rock hard, Yebba!

So I jumped in the car and drove to say goodbye… this song came on, which I never heard before, I didn’t even know who yebba was… half way through the song, my brother called me and told me it was too late… mum was already gone… this song will forever be my tribute to my mother…. To this day this song haunts me and gives me absolute delight at the same time! I became a fan of YEBBA the year my mother would pass away in the Summer of 2022. I loved "Evergreen" instantly ( before this version I had been a fan of the one by Barbara Streisand) I became a fan for life when my daughter explained to me that it was not a song of heartbreak for a lover OR unrequited love but rather a heart-wrenching tribute to her Mother who had taken her own life. So I will always be reminded of three things when I hear this: the heartache of losing my own Mom to Cancer...the heartache of a male friend that I was falling in love with but respectfully can never have...DTP....and my unbreakable bond with my daughter who always knows what to say or play for me somehow when I'm in my feelings....my own 'Evergreen".

She seems like she’s in great spirits lately. I hope she’s healing more everyday. And I hope the people looking out for her within the music industry are being kind and fair to her. She’s such a gem, and she’s been through so much.

Felt the pain in her voice!

this the was the only song downloaded on my phone (cos I ain't paid my phone contract, so bye Spotify) while on a 2 hour flight. Literally the whole 2 hours just me locked into this song. No regrets. ❤️

God put this on my heart...it has been a lonnnnng time since a song brought me to tears but, this white woman did it tonight. I pray that her mother’s spirit is free from any all pain she felt while she was here with us in the flesh. I hope this woman never stops sharing her voice with us and that will always music brings her solace.

Maybe that’s why I get chills so bad in that 10 seconds! That whole span of vocals literally sends me into chills each time.

THIS is what young singers need understand. If you’re too busy trying to sound like someone else - stop and start over. Yebba is an ORIGINAL. No imitations. No affected speech patterns. No faking. No Ellish wannabes, no Ariana bootkissers or any other YT viral to famous singers. stop playing. Find your OWN sound and inspire people to appreciate your talent - not your impression.

When someone sings this good, they are music, instead of do music.
