"And then the piano, beer, and songs; '2080's lyrics written quickly and messily on a sheet of paper; Lyn relaxing on her hammock; hands, glasses, and bottles clinking on the floor as if in response to the neighbors reprimands. A joyful hippie communion..."

This was the last video my brother showed me before he died. It's a special video to me. Thank you for that.

Your brother obviously had great musical taste... I'm assuming he lived a noteworthy life. Any cool stories?
I always come back and watch this video a couple times a year.

this video makes me miss the aughts, miss parties, miss all of it-- groups fall apart, musicians settle down and stop letting dozens of drunks into their houses because they have kids, everyone around me isn't old but acts old the last 7y or so. i get it.
Still one of the best videos on youtube

it's hard to find the right words for how much i like this version of 2080! it's not only the sound, it's also the interaction of the band and the crowd and it's an increibily joyfull atmosphere. look at the faces in this video! it really makes me happy to see how happy everybody is!
Can't believe this is 10 years old. Still love it.
Incredible that the one of the best videos on KZread has been around for 13 years and still not over 1 million views.

That actually blows my mind, this video is iconic in my heart.
You know you're in a kickass band when you can accidentally lock all your instruments in the van and still play a great show
This version of tightrope is what got me into a take away shows

This is probably the 50th time I've watched this since it was posted. It's bizarre to think how rare it is to find a band that will even admit to pursuing something joyful. I think Pitchfork deducts 2 points just for mentioning the word. When they first break out in harmony, I still feel like I'm getting hit in the stomach it's so good. This restores my faith in people. I rarely gush like this. I'm actually more of an electronic music head.

Time for the 51th time, 14 years after
Was I the only one ready to cry when they pulled back to reveal everyone in the room? My friend Ellen and I both got the emotion, and we can't figure out why. So beautiful and emotional.

wait were you actually on this video ???
I just found out today they broke up some months back, truly heart broken and shedding some tears. This performance/ video made me fall in love with them and get me through some hard times. Thank you for the memories.

Almost 14 years later and here we are.
Saw this years ago, and it's still my favourite video on youtube.
Absolutely love La Blotheque.. This just epitomises its brilliannce and genius of a very simple concept 😍
I want all of their songs in acoustic form, it definitely shows the passion they have for music. And I love how they use things around them to make music. I just love them.
what a beautiful thing adding the audience to the show
I've watched this video countless times now, and it never gets old. Yeasayer is my favorite band and this is just one prime example of why that is.
My heart keeps taking me back to this place, time and feeling...
So tell me how all they had was a piano and yet they still sound as amazing as their recorded tracks!
This seems like a perfect random night! I can honestly say I have had only 1 experience like this ... makes my toes tingle with nostalgia. These guys are on another level. Cant wait to see them on Saturday in Atlanta.
man. i've had some parties in my place but i can't beat this. yeasayer. yeah!
I love how you don't know there's all those people back there, and then they just pop up and you're like OH MY GOD and it just makes it intoxicating!
One of the most brilliant recordings this Earth has ever been blessed with
The thing I like about "Tightrope" is how versatile the melody is- the versions in this video, the live video from "Dark Was The Night," and the recorded version are all so different, yet recognizably the same. Yeasayer, despite being heavily electronic in their recordings, displays such a high level of musicianship in their live performances.
I'm so moved and inspired. I need to make every party I host become this.

This is the way I want to live. Seeing Yeasayer in one week!!
This is one of those things where, if you were there to feel it, you'd be damn moved to tears. Yeasayer rocks. They know how to pull in a crowd and they harmonize like nobody's business. That bit where they're told to keep it down is just too precious!
i think this might be the best thing i have ever seen on youtube
HOLY MOLY. I really had to laugh out loud when they all sang and it gave me goosebumps.
still listening
Eu amo esse vídeo dum tanto
definitely one of my fav Blogotheque videos out there. it just looks like so much fun being there. definitely makes me feel like i'd want to be there, jamming with them aand.... yeah!
La Blogotheque always have the very best songs. Tightrope is a big big favourite of mine.
I almost cried from joy when "the choir" started "yeah yeah".
10 years have passed. Still, I believe it’s the best video piece humanity produced.

this kinda reminds me of MGMT's "Time to Pretend". these guys are living my dream- going around the world and playing beautiful music with beautiful people
I bought this album when it came out. Loved it. I have never seen this video until now. I will come back to this always. Best thing ever.
I miss this 2006-2010 vibe so much
I am on a BLOGOTHEQUE trip tonight! This is one of my TOP TOP fave videos on KZread!
You know you're good when you make hitting keys against a beer glass sound like a valid percussion instrument
the first time i saw this video i was like 14 - 15 years old, cant believe so many years have passed. Im so glad today i found this video it brings me so many memories... feels like destiny (,:
This video makes me feel like I'm there. Which is testament to a great director, great vibe a great night and most of all an awesome band. Love it!
just when i thought it was over and couldn't get any better, it does.
I saw these guys in atlanta last saturday at the masquerade. It was absolutely amazing.
Watch this once a week. Top 5 video on KZread
@indiefolker I've listened to this for about 2.000 times in the last year. Can't stop, won't stop.
This version of "tightrope" is absolutely amazing. The piano is so beautiful.
these videos are so amazing, one of the best take away shows. thanks la blogotheque for keeping the music scene alive.
There are no words to describe how beautiful that was. I love them!
12 ans plus tard toujours aussi bon, merci :)
i am so thankful that things such as this happen
Man, that's something else. Possibly the best Takeaway Show ever. Nice work, folks.
Going to see them in June in Toronto! Couldn't be more excited.
this just makes me feel so much better when i'm sad. it's so beautiful.
Je suis toujours impressionnée par la bonne humeur qu'ils arrivent à susciter et créer autour d'eux!! Vous avez l'air d'avoir passé un super moment, j'aurais aimé être là!
This is my favourite video ever. It has everything. Whatever mood I'm in, it just makes me happy.
Wish I could travel back 10 years ago to that apartment in France and sing along to 2080 like a big dumb idiot. Also I'm in love with the woman in the butterfly shirt.
This video is incredible! I can't stop watching it. Makes me want to live in Paris even moreee! Yeasayer are amazing...
Best 9 min I have spent on youtube
I am just old but i miss music that makes me feel like this.
7:08 the wasted guy with the pit stains jamming out with the roof ahaha awesome
you know they passed around a bowl before this. :) this is so inspiring. all recorded music should strive toward this sort of effortless brilliance.
another great take away show. thanks La Blogotheque for making my day once again
I could cry right now. this is just... I cant!! I JUST CANT! A M A Z I N G
One of my favorite blogotheques.
yeasayer gives new life to take away shows
