I subscribed to your channel today. I watched your videos about All For Reef and your experience with it. I just started using the product about a month ago. I am having similar results. I have to try the powder next. I have a 35 gallon nano tank I am dosing 7.5 mL manually from a syringe daily so my bottle will last for a while. I just can't wrap my head around how this works so well. I like your video blogging about your tank progress. I noticed you seem to have lot of algae problems. I would suggest adding a refugium to your system. With enough Macro algae, detritus eating copepods & strong refugium light running on a reverse lighting schedule. The Macro algae in the refugium will out compete the algae in the tank for nutrients thus lowering your Phosphates and Nitrates. The refugium will grow tons of Macro algae & the tank will remain clean.

Hey there Thank you for watching and subscribing! I 'm pleased to hear you like the videos. Funny you mentioned the refugium as I have been thinking doing that but my sump is pretty full as it is. Not sure if I can swing it... haven't ruled it out just yet though 😎. Do you have a refugium set up?

@My525XLRedSeaReefer Yes I do use a refugium. I had a very similar problem with space inside my sump. My solution is I bought a Aqua clear 70 HOB filter, Intank acrylic media basket. The first chamber I use filter floss to keep detritus out of the refugium. the media basket directs the water flow to the second chamber where I currently am using the bio media that came with the pump assembly & charcoal. I bought a bunch of small zipper mesh bags to put the bio media & charcoal in. The bags to keep things neat and easy to change. The third chamber houses the chaetomorpha. I bought a golf ball size ball of chaeto and bottle of Trigger copepods from Algae Barn . I use the Nova refugium light that March @ Fragbox TV produced for his Reef Casa line of tanks as the photosynthesis reactor. I also use an Amazon smart outlet to schedule the light to run on a reverse lighting schedule opposite the tank lighting. Before I started using the refugium my tank was developing some Blue/ Green cyanobacteria. The little refugium is a workhorse and has only been up and running about two weeks and the cyanobacteria is just about gone. The Chaetomorpha has just exploded in growth. I have already harvested some of the Chaetomorpha. I also dialed back the white light about 20% on my LED's and have a more Actinic blue light on the tank which I believe is starving the cyanobacteria photosynthesis along with the Chaeto competing for the nutrients it will be gone without adding any chemicals to the tank. It may not be the most eye appealing solution, but I am beyond pleased with the results. To keep the purple/ pink light from spilling into the room I used some black duct tape to block the light. I believe this is also maximizing the use of the lights effect on the macro algae by reducing the amount of light loss. If you open the top of the unit with the light on it's like Indiana Jones opening the Arch of the Covenant. Basically my whole point in my little soapbox rant is think outside the box. Break down a refugium to its basic needs and come up with your own refugium solution. If done right it could be very eye appealing and very beneficial to create your own little ecosystem. You don't have to use Chaetomorpha. There are many different kinds of Macroalgae available some of which are kind of pretty. You could set up an outside display refugium with utilitarian fish, macro algae and even grow some mangrove plants. I am a huge believer that aquatic plants are absolutely necessary for the biology of an aquarium. Mother nature doesn't use chemicals and neither should we.

@@gordonellisjr331 yes totally agree with you.. need to think outside the box. Despite the limitations on space I could actually put a refugium behind the tank in the furnace/fish room; cycle water from there back into the display tank. I started to think about that after posting my video today as I commented on your suggestion and it got the wheels turning! I will be giving that some serious thought now. Really appreciate your input!! Thank you very much!

If you scrape all that coralline off the back wall, you probably won't need to dose given reg. waterchanges since you have just a few stony corals. my back wall was covered with that trash too and when i scraped it, saw about a 30 or 40 percent drop in alk consumption, and a similar drop in AFR consumption (not exactly cheap). Also prefer the look of a black background. I run a mix of AFR, 30 %, 2 part, 60% and Kalk for the last 10% of my tank demands. Much rather throw my money into coral than coralline personally.

Your p04 and no3 are both too low, which is why you have green cyano on the sand bed, and your acros are pale, and some of your other corals aren't doing great. Raise both, po4 .06ppm minimum imo and no3 5-25ppm. If you have algae issues and low nutrients add more herbivores (tangs, algae blenny, snails, urchins, hermits, whatever is appropriate for your situation). my 2 cents

Thank you Preston. I am trying to raise the levels but slowly. I don;'t think I have ever run so low of nutrients in 12 years. I may start turning off my skimmer for part of the day to see if that helps.
