That "when all you have is kicad, everything looks like a nail" urge to design a circuit board for this absurd little thing...

Not only was the project awesome in of itself, but the build log was also so charming!

I'm not trying to be a jackass here-- you clearly know what you're doing and the WooYeah24 is an amazing machine-- something i often forget is that i can use shorter or longer lengths of wire... I usually get hyper-focused on a project and overlook basic things like that! When you mentioned cramming the wires in, it was like watching my life flash before my eyes of all the times ive had to do the same!! In short; remember the basics!

No you're totally right! The wire looms were unnecessarily long. Probably because in my previous project I had made the wires too short and had to redo everything. So this time I overcompensated. 😋

I have never wanted an instrument so badly. You've done an incredible job here. If you feel so inclined, I would love to see you do a live drum and bass/breakcore session with the Yeah! Woo! machine, and whatever else you'd wanna throw at it. Thanks for the build details!

@dejanristic1915 you could always pre record a session without actually going live!

Hey thanks for watching it! 🙂 Yeah, I got a bunch of feedback on that old video now all of a sudden. So I thought some people would enjoy to see the build process. Would have done a more detailed log if I could but unfortunately I didn't document it very well.

I foresee a need for exactly the kind of damn-fool-genius* who makes a YEAH!/WOO! box. More specifically, the kind of person who thinks of making a YEAH!/WOO! box, then proceeds to make one (that works!), more or less because they can. Let's talk sometime, if you don't mind. * a compliment of the highest order, clarified here in case this is less than obvious above

How did you program the audio effects? Like the reversing, the changing the sample speed and stuff?? Youve just blown my mind doing that with the atmega, ive been messing around with arduino myself and i would love to know how you did that…

That might actually be a good subject for a follow-up video. Thanks! But I think the major challenge is familiarizing yourself with low level sample playback code. Once you got your arms around that concept, implementing the effects will not require much additional effort. I studied this blog post to get me started (and based my code on the example if I remember correctly): highlowtech.org/?p=1963
