The Oklahoma City Thunder have easily had one of the more impressive resumes so far throughout the course of the 2024 NBA offseason, the 2024 NBA Draft, trades, free agency, whatever you want to discuss. They have continued to surprise the majority of the NBA world with every move. Whether that involves the Alex Caruso trade, the Isaiah Hartenstein free agency signing, etc. The OKC Thunder will be looking a lot different in the 2025 NBA season, but while also remaining somewhat the same.
To start with the Oklahoma City Thunder offense, the additions of Isaiah Hartenstein and Alex Caruso do wonders for their depth and rotations. To pair them up with any of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Chet Holmgren, Lu Dort, Jaylin Williams, etc, the versatility they’ll be able to throw at different builds of opponents in 2024 will be much needed. And then there’s a whole different conversation on the OKC Thunder draft picks of 2024 in Nikola Topic, Dillon Jones & Ajay Mitchell.
But then regarding the Thunder defense, this just jumped to a completely new level. The defensive paly of guards in Cason Wallace & Lu Dort was already phenomenal, but adding Alex Caruso to that is absurd. Then regarding Isaiah Hartenstein, he is nothing short of a two-way monster. Seeing what Hartenstein can do with Chet Holmgren in the frontcourt for Mark Diagneault will be very interesting going forward into the 2024-25 NBA season. And as we await the NBA 2024 summer league, we will get a glimpse at the OKC Thunder rookies as well.

    Paul George is the most impactful Thunder player ever. It's the gift that keeps giving. He leaves the Clippers in FA and the Thunder own their picks for the next 3 drafts. Hilarious. Might have lottery picks for the next 3 years, with what appears to be a championship level team.

    the most underrated thing is us drafting nikola topic. i understand we have all these signings, but adding a player like him to a guard filled roster makes this pick low risk, high value (relatively in a weak draft class). if he pans out to be 75% of the player he could be, his trade value could be used for even more picks or just kept.

    I expect OKC to have a 62-win season. To save his legs, I see Caruso spelling SGA in the 2nd Quarter, and playing the bulk of the 4th Quarter. This will change in the playoffs. As for Hartenstein, I see him as either starting or coming off the bench for Chet as the other team's lineups dictate. The coaching staff has demonstrated admirable flexibility in their thinking and in their strategies.

    Hartenstein and Caruso are going to start so Dort will get moved to the bench. I would imagine both will get around 25 minutes per game and neither one is much of a scorer so you can look for more points from all three of the big dogs SGA, Chet and JDub. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything gels in the first couple of months into the season. We'll all know pretty soon what the potential of this team is. I hate losing Giddey but Hart fixes a huge problem and if Caruso can average around 10 like he did last year that would be perfect.

    As someone from okc I haven’t payed attention to the thunder or nba since 2012, the nba just has become so offensive focused, scoring is out of hand and every single superstar or even anyone close to a superstar status is also throwing tantrums like my 2 year old brother if they don’t get a call they want. But man my thunder team last season was the most fun I’ve had watching nba in my life! Such a good group of guys that play like the best in the league but act like a high school team!!! So excited to see what they can do next season and hopefully win a title

    As a thunder fan , i believe the lineup should be Pg: Shai Sg: Caruso Sf: Dort Pf: Jdub C: Chet Then off the bench we have Hartenstien ,Wallace, Joe, and Wiggins I think we will have some trials with our lineups throughout the season but i think hartenstien may actually disrupt the offense a bit at first only because usually shai will only have one defender in the paint even remotely effecting his shot and now with hartenstien being a rim roller he will have 2. But i think with the addition with Hartenstein we will have a lot more three pointers attempted due to offense rebound kick outs so i’m excited for that but initially i think he should be in a bench role playing about 24-28 minutes a night. Also Hot take 🔥: I think okc needs one more playmaker off the bench with the loss of micic last year , if we can make the money work , Lonzo ball could have a bounce back year and come to okc in limited minutes ! Very excited to see this team get to work & i think they’re setup to matchup with boston, hopefully they can get there !

    Actually, I don't know what's all the fuss is about as it relates to the Thunder! And I can recall, the 1st year of the rebuild the league teams had automatic wins over Thunder. I also remember Draymond Green said, " it was a waste time to play Thunder and they should be taken of their calendar of games! I also remember how Memphis scored a history make record against Thunder, I think it was a 60pts win! Plus we only won about 14 games that season! Now that we had a 42 games and 57 game winning season, people being to take notice. This was done by not skipping steps in the rebuild process. Sam Presti has been a wizard of a GM and now people say it ain't right! I said too bad because " the chickens have come home to roast and the fox is now in the chicken pen but since we are talking about NBA, I will refer to them as the League House on 5th Avenue! Roaring Thunder ❤

    🔵🌩️🌩️🌩️🌩️🟠 TH🌩️NDER 🆙 Chet,J-Dub,Dort,Joe,SGA Hartenstein first off the bench for Joe followed by Caruso & Carson in for Chet and Dort followed by Wiggins in for J-Dub now that leaves back Dieng, J-Will, k-Will rotating that last 10 & 11 spot with spotted minutes here and there to the rook Dillon Jones

  • @Mortay2k
    @Mortay2kАй бұрын

    Based on last season's rotation, I-Hart and Caruso will probably play off the bench. Shai plays the whole 12 minutes in the first, while JDUB, Giddey, Dort, and Chet will sub out. With the new addition of I-Hart and Caruso, they might play with Shai in the first and then Chet and JDub in the first 6 minutes of the second quarter. So basically, Chet and Hartenstein will be playing at 4 and 5, because most of the time, JDub was the ball handler. With that being said, if Chet can't hold back the defense inside, Hartenstein will play a significant role and probably will play at the 4th, same goes with Caruso because Joe is not that consistent during crunch time (It was always JDub, Shai, and Chet who delivers at the end). With this team without any liabilities anymore, I'm hoping that OKC will win the 2025 Championship.

    They could go anyway they want. SGA, Caruso, JDUB, Chet, Hart , Dort will all play 28+ min a game. Then they have Joe, Wiggins , Wallace in the reserve unit. We probably won't know the starters until Opening night, and it might change as the season goes on. MD will experiment, but we know he will do some thins like play SGA the whole first, and sit JDUB at some point in the first, and bring him back with the second unit. Chet will likely play 60% of his minutes at Center, and 40% at PF. Meaning one of Chet/IHart will be on the court at all times.
