I heard the Scrumban term in 2018, and didn’t think anything of it until the PSK course. In retrospect, you guys make a good point. No one calls the combination of Scrum and XP ScrumX.
Thanks guys, this helps to make it very clear. After having done the training with you and Dan, it's clear that Scrum and Kanban are siblings separated at birth that really compliment each other. ScrumBan and other mashups should be renamed KanUm or BanUm.
My general answer is: It's not either Scrum or Kanban, as none of the frameworks is covered entirely, especially Scrum which has many more guidelines and things to follow. It is a mix of some Scrum stuff with some Kanban stuff. Not saying it is wrong, better or bad. Whatever works, works for you.

Never called Kanban a strategy, but it makes total sense and finally I have a different word to use when talking about both :D Thanks!
after listening I must agree "Scrumban" is too prescriptive, value can be had by using elements of each but not in some set fashion, it has to be achieved through iterative process development.. shoot, this means I have to walk back a comment I recently made to the dev department lol

@@AgileforHumans The test, dev, user documentation, mandatory xls' and individual teammate performance report OC. SM helps the team to do more features and remove blockers like documentation and testing. // I kid you not there are companies who expect these kind of things.
IMO, ScrumBan isn't a thing, just like ScrumZero. People like to come up with new stuff to make themselves sound super smart.
