This demonstrates why I love Regine as a singer. Notice how she started so small and vulnerable. Almost like a little girl, dainty and evoking “just finished crying” feel. And then towards the end the vocals grew and also the emotions. I love Mori too!!!

Morisette and Regine are amazing singers. Regine has super powerful voice and very feminine low notes

Yes, a bit late but "better late than never" because you know we always anticipate your reactions and comments as a credible vocal coach on outstanding performances like this. Because of that, hopefully you can make a few more adjustments to your schedule so as to be able to make a reaction while the material is "fresh" and "hot" because your opinions matter. So, in here, we witnessed two great vocalists using their own styles in rendering one song which, as you said, is a difficult one. Thank you for pointing out that in belting, Regine is using more of a chesty voice that's why her belt is more powerful compared to Mori who is using more of a mixed voice, and because also of the mic placement. We also saw here that in the chorus, Mori is using her signature squeaks while Regine opts for belting instead. They are using each own strengths and style in singing the same song. They are not trying to out-sing one another, and even harmonize in the belts. It's just great to see two vocal specialists a generation apart performing on one stage, and to see them happy together and that mutual respect between them is delightful and heartwarming. The Philippines is proud to have Regine and Morissette, among the bests in the world! 💖💖

She always sings live and raw in front of hundreds of audience even though sometimes she is sick, just recovered from the hospital, or tired, but she still ends up vocally insane! She also make a tour in Asia and all over the world for her international fans... like she is working non-stop (she sometimes rest) but her performances are still much more powerful than a nuclear bomb! I believe she will stay longer in the industry depends on how Mori took care of herself

About the mic thing… I think Morissette intentionally pulls mic away so she does not sound so loud especially if she is in a duet. Morissette is more concerned of the quality of sound she produces than how loud she can get.

Hi Yazik! Regine is a legend, while Morissette is a future legend and imho, the current best in the world. Apart from the microphone technique, the reason why Regine's belts are louder and more forward-sounding is because she is using a form of voice compression called "twang". I believe Regine is closing down her epiglottis, which is what modern vocal coaches call, "twang", and she's also using some nasal resonance. That's why her resonance has a very powerful, bright, and forward-sounding effect. Meanwhile, Morissette's resonance is coming from a conventional "open throat" technique. Mori is producing her resonance from the back of her throat or "back resonance", which is what the old Bel Canto operatic singers use, but Mori is adopting this technique with a more contemporary approach (using contemporary vowel placements). That's why Morissette's resonance is more rounded, lush and richer in harmonics...

@@dendecastro7270 I know a thing about voice. *Morissette has the best tone in the world.* Listen carefully where Morissette's resonance is coming from: It's coming from the back of her throat, where 90+% of the resonators of the vocal tract are located. Bel Canto calls that the proper "open throat" resonance, or "back resonance". That's why Morissette's tone is velvety, lush, with rich overtones. And because she sings with a proper connection to the chest voice, her sound has the proper chiaroscuro or squillo. Filipinos need a re-education on what sounds good. For the past 20 years, Filipinos have become accustomed to twangy, bright, shrill, metallic tones because of the legendary Regine Velasquez. Listen carefully to how Regine gets her resonance. She is either closing down her epiglottis, which is what modern vocal coaches call, "twang", or she's using nasal resonance. That's why her tone has a very powerful, bright forward effect, but the downside is that the tone is shrill and piercing. Yes, Regine was able to popularize this tone because she had tons of star power and charisma, but if we are going to be really honest, this tone is not a good tone. Unfortunately, many of the next generation of singers adopted her technique, and thus, this twangy, bright, shrill tone became a staple among the big belters of the Philippines. I'm not alone in this assessment about Morissette. Rhett Lawrence, who produced Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Gladys Knight, just to name a few, flew to watch Morissette live in concert and in an interview back in 2018, he called Morissette "a future legend".

If you analyze Morissette's belting notes on a spectrogram, you will see that her fundamental, harmonic waveforms have a perfectly rounded, sinusoidal-like shape, confirming the clarity and rich harmonics of her voice. That's why her belts, even the upper belts have a full, rounded-sounding quality that doesn't sound shrill or thin.
