i couldn’t figure out how to turn the alarm off but i can now so thank you!! :)

May I mention that there are modern alarm clocks that look like the old-fashioned alarm clocks and are just as easy to operate. The ticking was the big problem, I think, in the "good old days", but I got a Japanese battery powered one that is almost as silent as a wrist watch.
