I m surprise that 1st phase turn out came 66% over all. That means BJP is getting what they wanted easily.. I m from Maharashtra Wardha constituency and i went to wardha from nagpur all the way 50 kms only for modiji and have casted my vote today, and i saw on the ground that congress voters didn't came out of for voting. BJP voters came from pune, nagpur to cast their votes only for modiji

NDA already at 353, having a 10% to 15% increase is actually a pretty conservative goal for 5 years. The issue is NDA is maxed out at most of the places where it could've gained seats. Totally agree that majority of people who like Modi are not what they are categorized as who are people who believe majoritinism. This is the biggest mistake the so called non godi media and reporters have been projecting. Hindutva for them is all about national pride, cultural pride, no appeasment, benefits for the right people,global pride and more. Nothing to do with minority bashing. If media and even the opposition starts looking at this based with this angel and recognize it to be part of pluralist view then there is a chance they can get their votes back. I believe this would be 20 to 30% of voter base. For now they are just tolerating the minority rants from BJP since they see BJP addressing other things they believe in. Once they see others are also willing to address the same then BJP will have tought time keeping them with them if they continue with the minority related rants.

I disagree with Yeshwant's analysis that in Tamil Nadu DMK will win all the 39seats. I have reports from the unbiased and bold local Tamil TVC that DMK is in a big shock when the results are declared. Further,I agree with Barkha as an NRI residing in Germany the stature of India has greatly enhanced and even my German business associates speak in a different tone when Indian economy is discussed. It’s OK to be very left of center. It’s OK, because we need balance. Hindutva is an amazing ideology that can take a human to a high spiritual plane. Let’s not try and equate it with some extreme ideologies that we are all very familiar with. To keep the balance, ask a Muslim voter in Hyd, Telangana if Islam is the reason they vote a certain way. I find it weird that you don't think about the un-said. When someone says they love Modi, it is mostly due to the fact that Modi makes no reaction over Hindutva hate speeches. They don't like him spreading hate because that is a negative in the world's eyes. They are unhappy with his hate speech, but they definitely love him for not speaking most of the times.
