Lyric's in English
Ukraine! Holy mother of heroes!
Come down to my heart
The noise of the Carpathian streams,
The battles of the glorious conqueror
Father Hop!
Holidays! Powerful! Cathedral!
Glory to Ukraine!
The trumpets howled, the field is on fire,
Again the horde from the swamps is coming,
Sune and sune, but the enemy does not know
What about him in our region
Only death awaits!
It's not the timpani beating, it's the heart in the chest,
Not in the bells of the laurel, here all the power is in the people!
Skulls fly off the mace,
All the hordes buried themselves, because the father is coming for you!
The army holds the sky with banners,
Aryan knights are already coming for you!
No matter how the horde of rats pushed,
The powers of the world and the Gods of all our ancestors are with us!
Chorus:
The devils die, the sun rises
This land will give birth to warriors!
May death bypass the brave!
Walk, wild field!
The enemy advances without ceasing,
Great-grandfathers will rise from the earth!
And it will take you to the other world, impress
Our wild field!
Why look at fortune tellers?
Everyone will fall from the sword of the Zaporozhians!
A black cloud came again,
I will grind the thorns, because I am
By nature, a free character.
Doom awaits all foreigners here,
From the Black Sea
Neptune takes out his trident,
Forever a legend for everyone,
And the Azov regiment will show its power!
Chorus.

Ukraine is Kyivan Rus.Kievan Rus. We are the foundation and progenitors of all Slavs. Russia is not Slavic. Russia stole our history. And we always fought for our freedom. The idea of the song is that our ancestors have risen from the dead and their power is in our modern warriors. because Ukraine has always defended its land.

@@UNCLEMOMO The singer, who wrote this song, is currently serving in the armed forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the war. He was inspired to write the text, by looking at his more experienced, courageous comrades in the group, and also by the heroic self-sacrifice of the our fighters from “Azovstal” (2000+ of them, was blocked by rushists underground 80+ days, whith civilians(-up to 1000) in non-human conditions). This song for the fighting spirit of our soldiers. - A small interesting fact.

At the beginning of the song, the words from the prayer of a Ukrainian nationalist sound. These words are very often used by the Azov regiment to maintain morale. Also an interesting fact about this song - its performer is now fighting at the front. The very name of the song "wild field" means the territory where the insurgent movement in Ukraine - the Cossacks - appeared. The message here is simple - the union of the history of Ukrainians with modern events. A parallel is drawn between the ancestors and the warriors who are now defending their land.

@@American-Orthodox-Christian First, you are very wrong about Azov. This is a regiment in the armed forces of Ukraine. It consists of volunteers who wanted to protect their home from the Russian invasion. And this regiment was created in May 2014. Therefore, it cannot relate to WW2 in any way. Second, you probably mean the Ukrainian Insurgent Army of WW2. They did collaborate with the Nazis at the beginning of the war. But then it was not yet known about their crimes and politics. For them, the main enemy was the Soviet Union, which killed and tortured people. For example - the Holodomor of 32-33 years. The Poles who ruled part of their territory also did not want to give them their freedom. These people wanted independence from Poland and the USSR. But after the Nazis refused them this, they began to fight against everyone - Nazis, communists and Poles. And so it continued for a very long time, even after the end of WW2 until the mid-50s. Therefore, it is better to read history and not draw conclusions about people from some obscure rumors.

And there was a very grim fight between Kyivska Rus against tatar-mongolian hords (who lived exploiting the people they conquered, who did pretty much what russian does to Ukraine today) - which are the ansestors of russians. So we can say that Ukranian people have a really long fight for freedom against hords of evil that is russia

I don't know why there is a translation only in Russian. Perhaps this was done because the song is addressed to enemies. Like a threat. Ukrainians do not need a translation into Russian, as everyone knows and understands Ukrainian. Unfortunately, Russian is still popular in our country because of the Soviet past and linguicide. You can read about it if you are interested. The author of this track also spoke Russian before, but switched to Ukrainian sometime in 2020. Now this is a significant trend. And one more thing, Russian has never been the official language in Ukraine.

Well, let us add some context while we are at it) The Wild Fields is a historic name of Ukrainian steppes north of the Black Sea, where Cossacks and Crimean Tartars and many other peoples have lived, fought and died throughout history. Today these lands witness war again. There is already a translation in the comments, but I respectfully disagree with some of it, so let me try to do my version) [Intro] Ukraine! Holy mother of heroes! Come into my heart! With the trickle of Carpathian streams, With the battles of a glorious warlord Father Khmel (cossack leader, a creator of the Hetmanate in 1648)! Holy! Mighty! United! Glory to Ukraine! (The whole intro is an extract of "the prayer of a Ukrainian nationalist", first created in 1920-ies and then modified throughout XX and XXI centuries) (Alisa) The trumpets have moaned(probably the reference to the air alarm sound), the field is burning. The hoard is attacking from the swamps(Moscow was founded on a marshland) again. It keeps coming and coming, but the enemy doesn't know, That only death awaits him in our land. (Yarmak) That's not the beating of the drums - that's a heartbeat in your chest. Not in the bells of Lavra (largest church complex in Ukraine, currently under control of russian priests), but in our people lies all the strength. Skulls are crushed by a bulava (a ceremonial mace, symbol of power for Hetmans) All the hordlings hide away, because the Father is coming at you (a phrase by Kievan prince Svyatoslav, who warned his enemies before starting war with a phrase "I go at you".) The army is holding the sky with their banners. Aryan knights are already after you. Whatever horde of rats comes our way, The powers of the world and the Gods of our ancestors are with us. (Chorus) Fiends die, the Sun rises This land gives birth to the warriors. Let the death not take the brave. Revel, the Wild Field! The enemy is coming without respite, From under the ground our great-grandfathers will rise, And will drag the enemy into the other world - Our Wild Field! (Yarmak) There is no need to look into the witch's (seeress's?) cauldron. Everyone will fall under the swords of Zaporozhians (another name for Ukrainian cossacks). A black cloud has come again, I will grind down the hardships, as I am a free kharakternyk (a mythological kind of cossack, supposedly wielding supernatural abilities) by genesis. For all the foreigners peril awaits here, From the Black Sea Neptune is rising with his Trident. (Neptune, aside from being a hellenic God, is also a name of Ukrainian missile complex that have sunk "Moskva" cruiser. Also, Trident is on Ukrainian coat of arms, as well as a traditional weapon for said deity). This legend is a demonstration for everyone for the ages. The regiment of Azov shall yet show its might. (Chorus)

UKRAINE, Mother of Heroes, come down to my heart, blow by the storm of the Caucasian wind, the noise of the Carpathian streams, battles of the glorious Conqueror Father Hmel, by the triumph and sound of the guns of the Revolution, with the joyful noise of the Sophia Bells. May I be reborn in You I will shine with your glory, because you are my whole life because You are all my happiness. Ring me with the rattle of shackles the creak of the gallows in the gloom of the morning, bring me the cries of those tortured in cellars and prisons, and in exile, that my faith was granite, to grow zeal, strength, so that I go boldly into battle, as the Heroes went for You, for Your glory, for Your Holy Ideas; to avenge the shame of slavery, the trampled honor, the scorn of Your executioners, the innocent blood of those murdered near the Bazaar, Krutami, in Kingir and Vorkut, the heroic death of the heroes of the Ukrainian Nation, of the Ukrainian National Revolution: Colonel Yevhen Konovalts, Basarabova, Golovinsky, Shukhevich, Bandera and the glorious death of Danylyshyn and Bilas, and thousands of others unknown to us, that their bones are scattered or secretly scooped up. Burn all the weakness in my heart with life-giving fire. I don't know fear, I don't know what hesitation is. Strengthen my spirit, harden my will, dwell in my heart! In prisons and difficult moments of underground life, I grew up to clear ranks. May I find a sweet death in those ranks, death in agony for You. And I will dissolve in you, and I will live forever in You, ETERNAL UKRAINE, POWERFUL and CONGREGATED

Thanks for the reaction! I didn't see this in the comments, so will write here, sorry, if it was somewhere. Yarmak released this song as support to Ukrainian military, as he took the arms himself to defend Kyiv. Later, his team gathered the various artworks of Ukrainian artists, related to the war theme, and animated them. Most of them feature Ukrainian military tradition in one way or another: warriors of the Kyiv Rus, cossacks, Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, Ukrainian Insurgent Army etc., the links to the originals are all under the video. A lot of women are also depicted as witches, as witches are well-respected in Ukrainian culture and there are stories about them helping the warriors all over the history. There are also references to modern war stories, like the Ghost of Kyiv, Azov regiment, "Neptune" is the name of our coast defense system, and the first russian ship attacking Ukraine which later burnt down.

Thank you for such a thorough response. Your attempt to understand a completely different culture through this video is commendable.👍 Let me clarify a few details: Ukrainian is the only state language (we have many national minorities who speak their own languages, these languages are even taught in some schools, where it is territorially necessary). Many people here speak russian (and 100 adults understand it) because we had a great "common" history, for which Ukrainians are now paying with their blood, not in the literal sense. I don’t want to delve into the history, because it’s long and you may not be interested (but if you have time - read the Baturyn tragedy, the Holodomor, the Law of 3 Ears on Wikipedia) - you will understand why we are fighting so desperately now, and that's why the Russians are for us as orcs, that destroy all living things. Oll our historical contacts with russians - to the ending the blood of Ukrainians. So this video -is trying to pass historical end somewhat mythological context of this war. Therefore, you understood the clip very accurately and subtly👍

a couple of fiexs in the lyrics: Sune and sune, but the enemy does not know -> "Coming and coming", "sune" is "moving, coming" ... Aryan knights are already coming for you! -> Galician knights (Galichchina aka Galicia is a region in Ukraine) ... Walk, wild field! -> "Гуляй " (Gulyai) - Break the leash, be free, do whatever you want ... And it will take you to the other world, impress -> not "impress", but "enemy": "vrazhe" is "enemy" ... By nature, a free character. -> not "character" but rather "sorcerer" (kharakternyk)

in the 17th century, free people - Cossacks - inhabited the lands on which active hostilities are currently taking place. These lands were called the wild field.

2:53 - this is Kharacternic. This is a warrior-sorcerer, a soothsayer in Zaporozhye Sich. This is a kind of spiritual mentor whom the Cossacks respected and somewhat feared, the keeper of the traditions and secrets of the martial art of the Zaporizhzhya Cossacks. 3:25 - Surmi - is one of the types of Cossack wooden trumpet, they played before the battle The trumpets(Surmi) howled, the field is on fire, Again the horde from the swamps is coming, Approaching and approaching, but the enemy does not know That on him in our land only Death awaits! 3:47 - A little explanation, Litavri are huge battle drums in the Cossack army. The leather was stretched over huge brass cauldrons. Hitting such drums signaled danger, and they were also used as a means of communication between Cossack units - special conditional signals were used to transmit orders to the troops during the battle. That is, the sound penetrates you to the bones. It's not the Litavri that beats, it's the heart in the chest, Not in the bells of the Lavra(monastery), here all the power is in the people! Skulls fly off the mace(is also a symbol of power), All the hordes buried themselves, because the father is coming for you! (the hetman was called father, that is, here the commander of the army beats the enemy) 4:00 Khorugvi - a battle flag, among the Cossacks it was a symbol of the power of the hetman of Ukraine, the chieftain of Zaporizhzhya Sich, a colonel, a centurion The army holds the sky with banners(Khorugvami), Aryan knights are already coming after you! No matter how the horde of rats pushed, The powers of the world and the Gods of all our ancestors are with us!

Made my own render of the lyrics of this song for those who do not understand ukrainian. To fully understand this text you gotta know much about the history of Ukraine: Ukraine! Holy Mother of Heroes Come down to my heart By the sounds of the Carpathian springs By the fights of the glorious conqueror Father Khmel (Bogdan Khmelnitsky - the first "Getyman" - leader - of the Cossacs) Holy! Mighty! United! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes! (it's a part of the old "Prayer of the Ukrainian Nationalists", the original text was written by blood in the cell in 1936 in Lviv, aslo used by the "Azov" regiment nowadays) (Female voice) The trumpets sounded, the field is on fire Again a horde from swamps comes (Moscow is built in the swamps) It pushes and pushes, but the enemy doesn`t know That only death awaits him in our land (Male voice) It's not the kettledrum beats, it's the heart in the chest Our power ain't in the bells of the churches but in people (in the song the word "lavry" is used - its a kind of Great Monastery - center of religion, but also this word means "laurel" - a symbol of glory since ancient Rome) Skulls crack under the hits of our mace (mace is not only a weapon but also one of the state symbols of the cossacs) All the Horde is skulking 'cause The Father (in the meaning "superior") is coming for you The army holds the sky with Khorugvs (a kind of heraldic flag) The Aryan knights are already coming for you Wherever the horde of rats comes We are backed by the all forces of the World and the Gods of all our ancestors (Female Voice) The demons die, the sun rises This land gives birth to warriors Let the brave evade death Rise, Wild Field (a region in the South of Ukraine where Cossacs lived - kind of a local Frontier) The enemy is pushing incessantly Great-grandfathers will rise from the dead. And will drag our enemies on to the Deathworld, Our Wild Field (Male voice) Why look at the fortune teller's bag (...to see the prediction) Everyone will fall by the sword of the Cossacks A black cloud came again, Thorns I'll grind because I'm of lineage of free Kharakterniks (Cossacs legendary witcher-warriors) Doom awaits all strangers here From the Black Sea Neptune gets his trident ("Neptune" is the name of the rocket that destroyed the Russian flagship in the Black Sea. Trident is the state Emblem of Ukraine) Forever the legend is indicative to all And the "Azov" regiment will show its power (More about the legendary "Azov" here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azov_Regiment) (Female voice) [twice] The demons die, the sun rises This land gives birth to warriors Let the brave evade death Rise, Wild Field The enemy is pushing incessantly Great-grandfathers will rise from the dead. And will drag our enemies on to the Deathworld, Our Wild Field (male chorus) The demons die, the sun rises This land gives birth to warriors Let the brave evade death Rise, Wild Field The enemy is pushing incessantly Great-grandfathers will rise from the dead And will drag our enemies on to the Deathworld, Our Wild Field

I will also contribute to the explanation of this work. But I will explain not the text, but the art. Аrt 1: depicts a characterist Cossack. this is a special type of Cossacks according to legends, mystical forces and were able to deceive both death and the devil himself. Art 2: The Ukrainian soldier is not a mindless war machine, these are warriors for whom the people and country are as holy as God, before whom he is ready to kneel. Art 3: continuity of the defenders of Ukraine: warrior of Kievan Rus', Cossack, soldier of the Ukrainian People's Republic of 1917, soldier of modern Ukraine. Art 4: in the first days of the invasion from Russian ships across Ukraine, mass shelling with heavy rockets was carried out (and targeted shelling of civilian buildings) Art 5: Ukrainian soldiers act as knights, as they protect not only Ukraine, but all of Europe, from Russian soldiers now nicknamed orcs, for their stupidity and primitiveness, and marked with Z, which is now, in Ukraine and not only, equated to a swastika, as well as a St. George ribbon, the color of which is in the picture the death / funeral of the devil. 6 art: no comment. Art 7: symbolizes that Ukraine itself and its women are ready to put on military equipment over beautiful clothes. Art 8: depicts the Ukrainian ruler Svyatoslav Khorobry (brave) whom the enemies feared, but not only him, but the entire army of Kievan Rus' (not to be confused with Russia). 9 art: this is most likely the ghost of Svyatoslav. 10 art: well, here you can think of it yourself. Art 11: Perun - in some sources, the supreme god of the Slavic pantheon, along with the all-father god Rod. God of thunder and war. note Russians are not Slavs, they are the ancestors of the Finno-Ugric tribes and the hordes where part of the Slavic culture was brought, and the territory of Moscow, before the horde, was a colony of Russia '. 12 art: continuity of generations. Art 13: shows that even if the ground under our feet burns, we will still dance. 14 art: interpretation of the Cossack. 15 art: demonstration of modern Ukrainian soldiers. Art 16: demonstrates Ukrainian witches, soothsayers, and so on... this refers to Konotop women, where every second witch is. who, even under occupation, were not afraid to threaten Russian soldiers, on equipment, with impotence. For the record, we still love the witch, she is kind and not dangerous. 17 art: no comment. 18 art: the art shows the ship MOSCOW V A, which was sent to NA KHU Y, from which shelling was carried out on Ukrainian cities, and Neptune. here it symbolizes the missile system of the same name from which the ship was sunk. 19 art: no comment. Art 20: it depicts the building of the Mariupol Drama Theater destroyed as a result of a Russian air strike, in which civilians were hiding, and next to it, the word children was clearly embedded. there were about 1300 civilians, the death toll ranges from 300 to 600.

Art 21: The Ghost of Kyiv - a legend that spoke about a pilot who destroyed enemy fighters during the invasion of Ukraine. 22 art: no comment. Art 23: Ukraine with Javelin in hand, which symbolizes the support of Europe, the USA and other countries in defense against the Russian horde. 24 art: terminator with the silhouette of a warrior of the Azov regiment. The Azov Regiment is an organization consisting of military volunteers, nationalists who defended Ukraine back in 2014. when Russia contributed to the formation of illegal, pro-Russian, terrorist organizations that pretend to be republics, undermining the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as sponsoring them with weapons and fighters. "Now" these guys, for several months, under massive shelling, along with civilians, were under blockade and siege at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol. in the end, they surrendered. Now the guys have returned to Ukraine. and all are unspoken, and maybe already recognized, national heroes of Ukraine
