Yaris 1. 5 G 2021 Fuel Consumption Test / I'm Shocked At The Consumption Figures / YS Khong Driving

I took the Toyota Yaris 1.5 G, 2021 Facelifted variant out for a fuel consumption test - driving at city driving speeds, over a distance of approximately 30 kilometers, air conditioner on, two people in the car, and I am really surprised at how much fuel this car consumes.
The video is a single take video, with no cuts, so you can see the entire test run without any breaks. We took up hill, downhill, stopped at traffic lights, and did a run without any route preparation, no outriders or chase cars, just us.
Actually the biggest challenge was to not make any broadcasting errors, and we made a couple of minor ones, sorry about that.
The Yaris was a standard showroom demo unit, on loan courtesy of UnitedStar Corporation, our friendly neighbourhood Toyota Dealer located in Aman Suria Petaling Jaya.

Nice One Uncle, really like your video about fuel consumption...really love to see more video like from you..we have some special request can you do fuel consumption for new honda city and vios 2021 in future?
I bought the Yaris in 2019 after watching your review (and some others). I love it very much although I must admit the new facelift version looks better and has more perks.

That's why CVT is better than conventional AT in terms of fuel usage. I am looking forward to see a new MYVI with CVT maybe next year.

Unless its a Mazda, their AT gearbox + Skyactiv G engine still has good fuel economy

Excellent choice.
FC is really good. I’m able to achieve 21km/L normal mode cruising average 90kmh despite running on UHP tyres & full exhaust system. Which is around 4.8l/100km. ☺️

Federal highway speed limit is always 80km/hr. But I think Mr YS has a very good point, there's zero signboard that shows speed limit at federal highway.

Daily crawling jam in KL city centre with a Yaris here... getting 9-11km/L 😭 cant wait to be able to cross state for a long cruising drive.

ha, just to say the same! fuel consumption on cruising is awesome! I did with normal mode also get 19km/L. but on normal driving style shock me as well (9-11km/L)! with previous city gm6 can go 13-15km/L.

The Almera has more power, in terms of torque but costs quite a bit more. Both cars handle well; both run Macpherson struts and torsion beam. Comfort level - the Almera may be a tad softer.

The Axia is 1.0 liter so is more economical, generally.
Incredible...27.0 km per litre better than bezza 22-23 only

At this level, the road tax difference over a year is negligible
minute 21.18 when stop at trafic light. Your gear at D. Should at N or P if not mistaken

That is about consistent with the Vios on a daily use basis.
CVT will always better at fuel consumption than normal automatic.

Does driving above 90km/h will automatically switch off the eco mode? If not, what is the speed needed to switch it off? TQ

It does not switch off. You press the eco button again, I think, or go to Sport or Normal

No, I don't think so.

My 13yr old Vios can still hit 480km on 30L of Ron95 with no aircon and window down. 16km/L
