Something I noticed between this and yesterday's vid in the Valley is that you aren't trying to force yourself to be entertaining, and it works. By not forcing the entertainment it actually comes off as more entertaining in the end.

I couldnt agree more. Ive tried to watch several "creators" in the past that I wanted to give a chance to entertain me but I end up clicking off and unsubbing because the forced attempts at trying to entertain felt so alien and awkward more than anything else...heavens forbid even a moment passes without a word being formed or an odd edit of the recording. This easygoing style is so much better, instead of someone trying hard to be a dancing monkey begging for change, it feels more like Im hanging out with a friend just enjoying a shared interest.

I watched an old documentary about a German hump yard. The cars were braked by brakmen laying out brake shoes on the track to slow down the cars. In case they slowed a car down to much they had long prybars wich they used to move cars by hand by putting a prybar under a wheel and lifting it slightly. So yes moving cars by hand has been a thing.

@@Hyce777 yeah, I only got about half of the cars, Sylva gave me 55 cars. Of those, one was my own coal hopper, and 3 were for the paperboard...and I'm tier 3 for everything Sylva to Alarka. I'm anticipating a massive amount of cars next interchange service...looks like day 21 is going to depend solely on the passenger service...

Oof, hope those allergies clear up for you! Also...of course there's Kenosha. Three Kenoshas, even. And then the house track ghosts come back to haunt you.

Hearing you mention whistle mod reminded me I still need to send you that whistle article I promised someways back... finally got access to a scanner and data cable so I can get that done on my next weekend. 18:24 If it had been a full hopper, then the worst you could have done was break the coal up some more. I'm no steam expert, but what little I do know suggests decent size lumps are good, too small or too big is not good and coal dust is bad unless you're set up to burn it. the extra tracks/spurr in dillsboro you have to activate changing mode then going to like features then go back to the other mode.

You can buy 2 storage tracks (only accessed from 1 end) if you need a place to shove long cuts of cars at they yard. I wish there was the option to upgrade siding lengths and connect a few to build longer segments of double track. it would make sense for the siding to extend from the bridge where Cowee siding starts to east Dillsboro.

For K-37 Kitchen, I was not thinking suvee until you said it. But I have thought it might be interesting to do something like steamed dumplings off an aux port from the boiler.

25:38 It takes a certain skill level to develop a thick rich brown crust on your ten wheeler. At many railroads this experience is optional or even frowned upon, but on the ES&DT it's a job interview question equally important as "how many pee cups do you go through during an average shift?"

I say whatever loco becomes the yard goat gets named after the ridgeway goat. And mods yes please

Not sure if you've encountered this yet, Hyce, but the damage on the passenger cars WILL reduce the fares you get from them (much like the raw resource cars), so putting them into the repair tracks is very much worthwhile. Not much point loading overnight for a full train if you still end up with a fraction of the revenue due to the cars being banged up to hell and back.

Use the hand brake when you're coming in to hot. Or cheat and back out of your game as soon as your loco or cars hit the dirt without saving and jump back on. The auto save is usually within 30 seconds to 2 mins backing up the clock. Just make sure as soon as you get on to hit the brakes at the bottom left indicator.

Thr Tsrdgoats is the name of our mjnor league baseball team in Hartford, CT. Hartford is not a known for railroading, and no one has figured out why that name won when there was a contest to name the new team.

You're supposed to brown meat, not engines, but it's the ES&D so there are always exceptions

You mentioned something about "the model railroad switching vibe", whenever I watch you playing this it always looks like an HO scale model to me.

25:00 - Oh that's a new function, isn't it? The "pass fusee". That'd have come in handy with the setup you used before on the passenger train, and might still be useful now where you don't have signals. You could just have AI trains proceed from fusee to fusee without needing to constantly remove and re-set them. Any timestamp - Being pollen allergic myself, I feel you. Seems you didn't find the right medication for you yet? Or is it unavailable without robbing a bank in the US? 32:50 - I still love that visual representation of the train brake state. As a user I'd love to see it "stolen" into CoS :D

Thankfully allergy medications are not so expensive in the US, I've tried a few, but no matter which, they all seem to get tested in the spring... lol! Glad to hear your preferences on brake things. ;)

Yaknow what would make more sense with the ten wheeler is that if you renumbered it 3 and the current 3 to 2
