Yankee Crossing / Dutch Crossing
Ойын-сауық
This is the complete dance, performed at Pinewoods Camp during American Dance and Music Week 2007. It was taught and called by Lisa Greenleaf.
The musicians were Lissa Schneckenburger, Mark Roberts, Stefan Amidon and Bruce Rosen.
Yankee Crossing is Joseph Pimentel's contra adaptation of Dutch Crossing, which was originally written as an English country dance by Ernst van Brakel of the Netherlands.
It is an 8-couple dance with two lines of 4 couples. Watch the couple nearest the camera. After they do a hands-across star, one person will travel along the diagonal and the other person around the outside, to meet at the other corner.
It is a time-consuming dance to learn. When it is done well, as in this video, it looks really nice.

Been there, done that! (ESS week at Pinewoods, 2007 & 2008.) It's very difficult but FUN!!
This is my favorite Dutch Crossing video. Is Lisa Greenleaf calling in C# at Pinewoods? The gentleman in the red shirt in the corner nearest to the camera is a good dancer to follow, in my opinion.
