Lytle Creek - 4th of July Weekend - Coldwater Canyon - 3N06A - 4Runner - Jeep
Watch me test my camper build 4Runner up Lytle Creek. The rutted areas towards the end of the trail are very deep and require a lot of clearance and suspension travel. I can assure you that the rutted areas are deeper than they look.
My 4Runner is a Trail Edition 4x4, on Billsteins 1500's, Nitto Ridge Grappler's (33's), a 2-inch lift, and no lockers. My frame kept getting caught in the middle of the one of the ruts. After trying ATRAC and 4Lo, I decided it was time to have my buddy pull me up.
My rig was built to be a camper for my wife and family. Hence, why I am lugging around a 200-pound RTT and a trash bag lol. She is not built for rock crawling and technical terrain. However, I do enjoy trying local trails from time to time.
I say all this because I continue to hear people saying that you can do this trail in 2WD. This is completely inaccurate. Always bring a friend and have offroad supplies ready. Never go alone!
I hope you have a great time no matter what type of vehicle platform you choose to drive!

Why didn’t you use ATRAC? 4Lo with ATRC activated will accomplish just about anything lockers will. Cool video!

@@dc-zw7cl I tried to and I even changed my line. Turns out the issue is lack of travel. My frame kept getting caught in the middle. Ty for the advice! Appreciate you brotha!
I'm assuming that you can't get to the top without 4x4?

You can get to the little creek area where the water is flowing. Beyond that point I would not go further. The ruts are pretty deep and a 4x2 vehicle could have some issues.
