Yanis Varoufakis: Europe and the Austerity Fallacy

The European Union is a house of cards threatening regional stability and global prosperity, argues Yanis Varoufakis. The flawed architecture of the EU’s institutions, which struggled to develop an effective or coordinated response to the Eurozone crisis, has never been addressed. What are the key lessons from the Eurozone crisis? And what can global leaders and citizens do to build a more just, democratic, and sustainable economic system?

1:06:10 according to the creditors' economic model increasing VAT by 1% yields additional €100Mio./month tax revenue. well, then just make 7'500'000% VAT for one busy weekend and say good bye debt.

Yanis thorugly described what happened at the time of Greece's default, but he didn't describe thoroughly what happend 10 years prior to the default, what was the behaviour of greek people prior to that, and what actualy led to that default.

Well, not much substantial from this former greek financial minister. He still thinks he is the smartest ass in the room. As so many people reported regarding the talks with him.
