Yangshuo County (阳朔县) is located in the northeast of Guangxi (广西), China, under the jurisdiction of Guilin City (桂林市). This picturesque county is renowned for its stunning karst landscapes, bordered by the Li River (漓江) and is easily accessible by bus or boat from Guilin. Yangshuo has become a popular destination for both domestic and foreign tourists, known for its vibrant backpacker scene since the 1980s and later for organized tours. The county's West Street, with a history of over 1,400 years, is a hub for locals and tourists, featuring signs in both Chinese and English, reflecting the area's international appeal.
The region offers numerous outdoor activities, especially rock climbing, with famous spots like Moon Hill, known for its challenging routes. Other notable climbing locations include Low Mountain, Twin Gates, Baby Frog, the Egg, Bamboo Grove, and Wine Bottle Cliff. Besides climbing, Yangshuo's natural beauty and cultural experiences attract visitors from around the world, making it a unique blend of natural wonders and cultural richness.
Yangshuo's partnership with cities like Morehead, Kentucky, and Rapid City, South Dakota, in the United States, as well as Bled in Slovenia and Annecy-le-Vieux in France, highlights its global connections and appeal as a tourist destination.

I was born in Gingle county of Guilin in 1944 (now a near 80) during WWII when my medical father from Hong Kong University & Queen Mary Hospital was assisting the Chinese Red Cross. After the war, we were back to Hong Kong (HK) briefly - before my grandparents summoned us back to Bangkok. I was registered as a Taiwanese passport of which I needed a Guarantor to schools in HK. My father had to change my nationality to a Thai before sending me to college in America. I HAVEN'T VISITED GINGLE OF GUILIN & HOPE TO DO IT SOON!
What a beautiful place
Have to agree with you as I spent 2 weeks on honeymoon with my first Chinese wife there and we did go on the Li River boat trip and the mountain views are stunning and even better if you hire a tandem and use the road to go through the hills. Only fault I found was too bloody many mozzies, they were a pain. Apart from that was very enjoyable. Unfortunately my then wife died a few years later from cancer, so not done again.

Great video. Captures the wonderful beauty of Yangshuo and the exceptional scenic Yulong river area that is best visited by renting a bike for a day and gliding down the river by bamboo raft.

I was there in 2010 and it brings back so many wonderful memories. Going by raft down both the Li and Yulong rivers was amazing as well as visiting the caves, buddhist temples and karst mountains. This is one of the best scenic areas in China. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Dear Duck, Thank you for the delightful walk. I'm absolutely fascinated. I don't like big cities. I like places like this - here the city is delicately inscribed in the magnificent landscape. You can even find a place for solitude where it is really quiet and very clean... But it seems to me that in China, in general, they are very careful about cleanliness. I would love to take a boat ride on the Li River among these amazing landscapes.

I'm so glad you like this video. In addition to the Li River and Yulong River, there are many places to explore in Yangshuo. You can rent an electric bicycle like me and tour around, or you can spend some time climbing to the top of the mountain. Every day here You can find interesting things 🦆✨👍💕

I haven't been to Guangxi (although my gf is from there) and I really want to visit Guilin, but to me, Jiuzhaigou is the most beautiful scenic spot (and most organized tourist attraction) in China, so far. I've only been to Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, Nanjing and Beijing. (I've also trekked Hutiaoxia a.k.a Tiger Leaping Gorge.) Maybe some other place will overtake the top spot as I travel to more places in China. Looking forward to it!

陽朔西街可以租電瓶車，不過記得要講價，我是從金龍橋開始拍的沒錯，不過上游還有一些碼頭，你也可以騎車過去看看，然後遇龍河很多地方是可以玩水的，有機會可以下水玩玩😃

Ich war schon dort, muss aber sagen, die Aufnahmen zeigen nicht die Massen an Ausflugsschiffen die auf dem Li River unterwegs sind, man hat diese Schiffe bewusst weggelassen, sieht halt mit denen nicht mehr so romantisch aus.
