The metal 8 sounded outstanding!!!!!! I might have to try one. Thank You
Oh my!!! That metal mouthpiece sounds amazing!
I started playing alto last year and had been under the impression that on alto most people agreed that an ebonite mouthpiece is the way to go so after playing on various mouthpieces made form plastic and ebonite I tried a metal mouthpiece and wow, like a turbo--charged sax sound with so much variety and possibility and if needed a sound that will shake the keys of the sax. Thanks for the review.

No problem Darth! May the force be with you...
You sound amazing. I suspect if you were using wax paper and a comb you would still sound great.
I would love to do so, bro.. but my country (Portugal) not even has a metal mouthpieces on the shops... It's not possible find "pop" stuff for saxophone and it's definitely a pain in the ass to buy certain goods here. I have to buy from UK or sometimes from Germany. It's quite bad because we can't try anything here, so I have to buy always online without trying or fly to somewhere else to can try and buy. ://
Hi Now i am playing a candore v16 n.7 do you thing metal yanagisawa n.8 it's Good forse me ? thanks
I have an Alto Yani metal m/p (amongst others). The build quality (machining/finish/playing) is excellent. It plays very well, good low and high response. Coming from playing plastic and ebonite m/p, initially the metal seemed narrow, thin on the lows and squeaky on the highs. However, over time, and experience with other (larger chamber) metal m/p, one appreciates that by design, the Yani has a relatively small chamber. This lends itself to a very good top end response. Adopting a more relaxed/consistent emboucher in the upper register, but with very good air stream support results in a good tone (no squeaks). Likewise, a good full tone down to Bb in the lower register comes easily with a relaxed emboucher and very good air stream support.
I will thank you
Bonjour de france can you give me the model metal thank Merci

I'd say the Vandoren Metal 8

Hi... The Vandoren Jumbo Java A45 has a huge step baffle but round chamber (the Java A45, has half step baffle and also round chamber), the Yanagisawa metal one doesn't have a step baffle but delivery smoothly to a square chamber what makes it sound modern as well. I would go definitely to the yanagisawa 7 or 8. The Vandoren has nice fat sound on the meddle and low notes, but the yanagisawa can get you a richer sound at all. If you like better European sound (more classical and trad jazz stuff), you probably will go better with Vandoren (but maybe not the Jumbo Java A45), but if you like better American sound, you can stick with the yanagisawa (quite good price for it's quality). The feeling into the mouth and how you play is also something to consider. Cheers!

The metal for sure is better. The ebonite was dull on the upper end.
I don't hear any difference. Maybe it's my hearing, I don't know.

I can hear a difference, but it's often how the m/p feels/plays to the sax player. Ebonite is often darker/warmer/mellow, but it really depends on the design of each m/p (chamber/baffle/throat). The metal is often more 'snappy', more projection.
