Houtou is a traditional noodle dish of Yamanashi Prefecture. Pork is the standard, and other than that, it's each person's favorite. Even in Japan, there are different likes and dislikes. Come to think of it, there were deer when you last visited Lake Yamanaka!

Hi dears! Here in italy, when i was child my granny give me meat horse (because is rich in iron and digestible), also a little meatballs made with cow brain (i was born in '60 and no mad cow at all), and a lot of meat rabbit (and i prepare some meal for my family even now), just because is digestible and lower in fat. I know that is strange for foregners...

I've taken my daughter every year to a game dinner at the hunting club: bear, venison, moose, duck, goose, elk... pretty much every game animal. Bear's definitely "out there" but it's amazing what skillful cooks can do with these various meats.

You guys are awesome trying everything in Japan which I have ever tried while I were in Japan. Because you have mentioned about taking off shoes in Japan. The reason why we do that traditionally b/c we are the part of Ten Tribes of Israel. I was taught by my father in Japan that the house is very sacred place and we must maintain clean and holy to feel the spirit of God. When you enter the holy house or temple in ancient time, they did take off their shoes and wear slippers so we maintain those traditions in Japan. We carried on the things ancient Israel did. You know that the first emperor came to Japan in BC 711. Written on “ Nihonki ‘ !

A horse is a pet, and I never consider eating "baniku" unless there is no other option such as when a customer "treated me" to another whole platter because I smiled when he asked if I liked the "bazashi". Long Live Mr. Ed. On the other hand, a walrus is never a pet, so it's ok to eat Hokkaido Walrus Curry.

Between my husband and I, I am probably the more adventurous when it comes to food. I'd try and horse and bear meat, but I have a feeling I would prefer the bear over horse. I'm quite fond of venison though. We have some friends who made a venison chili a few years ago that was fantastic. And we got to try some venison summer sausage a few months ago that was amazing.
