You got it. Good info. Always Texas rigged backwards with a 4 or 5/0,. I'm going to try this. Good idea.

We call it the palm tree! FYI, if you rig it with a wide gap, you can take a razor blade and cut a slit in the bait. It'll help with hook ups since you're not going through all that plastic.
That’s the way I rig it 99% of the time. Palm Tree style

I think the "balled bait" issue is because many throw it on too small a hook. I've caught hundreds of bass on it with a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG ..with very few losses due to that hook size. But I really like this idea, too! I'm guessing there's more back slide with this presentation. Thumbs up!
