Yamamoto 4" Fat Ika Tips Tricks and Techniques -

Спорт

#BassfishingEd How to Fish & How to Catch More Bass using a Yamamoto 4 Fat Ika, this bait will catch fish anywhere, I have caught so many good fish on this bait just pitching, flipping, casting or dragging this bait. I use a 4/0 or 5/0 EWG hook to rig it and I rig it from the skirted side. I also will dye the skirts and I'll use a screw lock or nait weight in the end of the bait.
If you use the baits along with the techniques, and tips I gave you, they will help you learn how to catch more fish when you fish a small pond, farm ponds, swamps, lakes, marsh, highland reservoirs, rock quarries, oxbows, rivers, streams, deltas, levees, aqua ducts, dykes & tributaries. Fishing from Kayaks, fishing from tubes, fishing from shore, fishing from the bank, and fishing on a boat.
I have used the tips & techniques I gave you and they will help you catch more fish (Bass) on Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, Lake Havasu, Lake Perris, Lake Otay, San Vicente Reservoir, The California Delta, Clear Lake, Lake Hodges, Silverwood Lake & Diamond Valley Lake.

    I guess the Tiny Ika was a big hit with alot if guys before Yamamoto stopped producing it. Alot of my buddy's make theirs own Tiny Ikas. Backwards? Thats the way I rig it. I thought that was the correct way... I'm an Ika newbee though. Lol Good video Ed 👍

    You know I have not been doing well this spring with the usual wacky Senk, tube, jig/craw, etc.. Went through some old boxes of lures and came across some old packs of Fat Ikas. Used to love them and not sure why I stopped. Tried them out and wow did they impress. I can skip it under the lowest dock. Ordered plenty more. My best tips is rig backwards with an unweighted 4/0 Owner twistlock hook. Turn bait 90* (point end) and re-rig if it gets warn out

    I take a 2/0 wacky hook and rig it skirt side up also. The hook is not weedless but it works well. I bounce it off the bottom usually getting hit on the fall.

    Great video can you follow up with how you tie it to your line, do you use a leader or straight on to the line pretty much the whole setup I'm a new to the fishing world thank you again great videos keep up the work

  • @BassfishingEd

    @BassfishingEd

    I tie the hook straight to the line, you want to let the weight of the bait and hook be your only weight. It will cast great. Make sure you watch your line it will get thumped or swim off

    Hi, Ed. I'm from Los Angeles. Hit me up on FB or IG@Bassmaster Ice. I love throwing the Ika. My best day fishing was catching two four pounders back to back at Lake Lopez. As far as improving on fishing the Ika, Use an Owner 5/0 Widegap hook which will give that Ika more space to bend into when that bass gets a grip.
