    Yes - there is a rear seat and rear pillion pegs! I've removed the pegs as I will not be carrying a passenger but both motorbikes are capable of 2 up.

    Hi, Love the video, I see your around a Kent Town :) Im a late learner at 32 but both myself and parnter is doing are cbt next week and we have been looking at both the R and the MT, R for my self and MT for her :) My question is, is it worth spending out money on these bike being complete learners or save your money and go straight to Direct Access and get a more powerfull bike? Also would you say the MT is an ideal learner for a Shorter Woman Rider? Hope to see you on the Road :) Jason

  • @EvolutionMotovlogs

    @EvolutionMotovlogs

    8 жыл бұрын

    Hi Jason, thanks for the support! I am indeed. That's awesome to hear and I hope that you and your partner enjoy your training and fly through the CBT with no problems! The YZF R125 and MT125 are literally the best 125cc learner legal motorcycles out there. Very easy to learn on, sufficient power and reliable. The only downside is that they are very expensive motorbikes - especially when you compare to the big motorbikes you could get with the same money! In regards to learning on the MT - it's agile and has great steering which makes it very easy control/ride. The power delivery is smooth and generally everything works as you would expect at a high level standard. The seat height is relatively low (820mm) but may be worth while measuring that against her just to see how high it would be. The rest is up to you, it depends whether you have the intentions of moving up to more power or whether 125cc is suitable. If you plan on staying on a 125 for a short while then it's worth the money. I hope this helps, please don't hesitate to ask me any further question or private message me :).

    Hi EvolutionMotovlogs I begin to follow your videos on the youtube channel about 125cc motors and I have to say that you're doing a wonderful and great job on that sir. However I have a serious question if you don't mind me asking. Can you please do a Review/Comparison:Testdrive about the Suzuki GSX-s vs Suzuki GSX-r just like you did the wonderful comparesing between these two magnificent bikes of Yamaha. I would love to see that on both Suzuki's because I'm struggle to find the best Review/Comparison/Testdrive. I'm looking forward to that amazing video when you find the time to do it. Thanks in advance. Johnny.

    I've sat on both in my local Yamaha dealership and I was totally uncomfortable on the YZF-R125, I had backache within minutes, that lent forward riding position just doesn't suit me at all lol, I'm 6ft 1". The Upright riding position feels so much better to me. Apparently sports tourer's have an upright riding position too. Both the YZF-R125 and MT-125 are very expensive for a 125, if a rider is happy on a 125 permanently and will keep it a long time, then I'd say it's not too bad but for a learner who will probably have it a max of 2 years I'd say it's too expensive. Great review 👍

  • @EvolutionMotovlogs

    @EvolutionMotovlogs

    The R125 can be very harsh on the wrist and back, especially if you're tall! It is expensive for a 125cc, however when you compare it to the 'bigger bikes' it's pretty well priced. The MT-07 second hand is pretty much the same value as a brand new 125.

    Here's my problem; The yzf: I love the style of the sports bike, I like how it is a full size bike as well unlike most 125s. The rear seat or pillion seat, it's full size/large on this, where as on the mt there's almost no pillion. The mt: it's good for filtering and would be more suited for my journeys, how ever it's not as much as a head turner (but it still is beautiful). Plus it's more comfortable, but I won't be going in long journeys. When riding I'd just be riding to and from school, only 15mins a day and weekends probably on ride outs. I'm leaning towards the yzf for a pillion but then again, the mt is beautiful, but with the yzf you have the ability to say 'I ride a sports bike'

    As you can imagine it would be hard to answer this question accurately as there are so many variables involved. Insurance wise it depends on your age, no claims bonus, location, employment and much more! My first year on the R125 was very expensive as it's in one of the highest insurance groups and I was only 17. I recall paying approximately £1000 for my first year, this was fully comprehensive with all the extras you can think of. The following year it was due to drop down to about £700. Although I've seen threads of insurance being as cheap as a few hundred pounds.. but generally there are much older than me.

    Running costs and maintenance is something you don't even need to worry about. Just add fuel and off you go! I would get approximately 280 miles to £11 or so which is very fuel efficient and cheap per mile. I had completed my own mini service including spark plug, filters, oil change and brake pads - but parts are very cheap and is not something you need to do frequently at all.

    It's very much so variable. Yamaha YZF R125s range between £1200 - £4500 depending on what year, condition and mileage. The CBT is a one day course and will cost you approximately £100. Insurance is a variable dependent on age, location, NCB and bike. I would expect around £500. I would purchase the best gear you can afford - it's expensive to get started but once you have everything it's just the case of maintaining the bike and paying for fuel.

    I preferred the MT-125 all round, more agile and easier to ride; also easier to access parts for maintenance as there are less fairings. However, the YZF-R125 is certainty one of a kind, looks phenomenal and very fun in the corners!

    By law you need to display two L plates; one on the front and rear. I always used a rear L plate, but stuck the second on my front bubble screen mostly. (Yes, you could probably get away with one - but I can't be responsible for that).

    Hello! I was wondering if you could answer me a question. If you were to choose between a Yamaha YZF R 125 and a Yamaha MT 125 (both brand new) which one would you choose?

  • @EvolutionMotovlogs

    @EvolutionMotovlogs

    5 жыл бұрын

    It depends on several factors... What's your ride style preference? Will you be commuting often and far? Will you often carry out maintenance yourself and need easy access to various bits? The MT-125 in my opinion is better for the day to day to commute, agile through town, filtering and great on the A roads at 60 Mph or so too (comfortable). The YZF-R125 looks the part, gives you the ultimate sportsbike feel and great in the corners and slightly faster due to it's aerodynamics. But it's not so easy to do maintenance on and sportsbike aren't so fun when stuck in traffic (clip on handle bars and harsh seating position). I say, see them both in person and sit on them yourself and you'll know what feels right.

    Good video, even 8 years later. I've always prefered the supersport as opposed to the naked, although MT is a very nice looking bike, I prefer the YZF, I'm 33 and aiming towards my first bike, just need the money to buy. I couldn't afford a new bike, although a new bike is no longer in the 4k price range, it's 5k now, that's price fluctuations for you. I will soon be riding a YZF R125. It's funny how I could buy an R3 for cheaper than the 125, but I suppose my A2 license will come after I've had more experience riding.

  • @EvolutionMotovlogs

    @EvolutionMotovlogs

    Yes - at 19 you can ride the MT07 on the A2 license. It will need to be restricted so that it fits under the max BHP bracket - You can request for it to be restricted (it's a very simple to restrict and/or remove the restrictor in the future). My friend owns an MT07 which is restricted and he can add/remove the restrictor in 15 minutes.

    I was thinking of getting the exhaust system from akrapovic (sorry for not writing the c right) but as i hear i have to spend so much money for the kit and remapping of the engine, it sounds like it's not really profitable

    Arguably, you wouldn't need to remap the motorbike after fitting the exhaust. Akrapovic are expensive but the best IMO. For example, my MT07 hasn't been remapped and was advised by Yamaha it's 'safe' to use without any adjustments.

    First of all, they are both spectacular 125ccs, possibly two of the best you can go for in the 125cc tier. The YZF-R125 is a sportsbike, the MT-125 is a upright naked motorbike. Performance, brakes and handling are almost identical, ultimately depends what style of riding you want to go for.

  • @EvolutionMotovlogs

    Good question - if you don't want or need the extra power than the MT125 would be suitable and the A1 license would require less training than the full license on the plus side. However, in the long run if you pass your full test for the MT07 you will not be limited in the future. The MT07 is just a more powerful and improved version of the MT125 essentially. I'd go for the MT07, but that's just me...

    I retained the same value when I sold mine, albeit I had added extra parts such as the exhaust. But you can't expect additional parts to increase the value.

    Gutted, I love the look of the KTM rc125, mpg is good too. Actually, no, not gutted. I'm still getting it! White wheels, nicer decals, tail tidy etc. Such a nice bike for a 125.....would of gone for the mt after that though!

    +Ziramagic Value for money, you can get a 'bigger' motorbike for the same price. as the 125's. I'd have gone for the MT07 too, but I don't have the license to ride one due to my age.

    Yeah, I think that it's about road sense, which I understand. But statistics show most/ net early all bike accidents are from rider error, without another car.
