Just installed mine on my XT250 and the difference is tremendous! I was having difficulty watching for deer on the sides of the road on my morning commute and was virtually blind for a few seconds when vehicles were passing me in the opposing lane. TOTALLY worth the investment just from a safety aspect! I had to fine tune the twist of the "buld" a little counterclockwise on low beam and adjust the aim of the headlight down quite a bit to avoid blinding other drivers but other than that, it is a piece of cake to install!

I agree with @LJ Prep. As an IT tech of 45+ years, you ALWAYS test before putting stuff back together - ALWAYS. And in some cases, you test during the different stages. In this case, he should have tested the bulb BEFORE ANY INSTALL PROCESS! Unplug the old one, TEMPORARY plug in the new one, test the light, then continue. I have had 'dead' products straight out of the box. Do a 'quick test', assemble, test before re-assemble, do a partial re-assemble, test, finish re-assembly, perform final test. Remember the old and true saying: "An ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure". :)

My headlight boot doesn't have a hole in the back. Should I cut a hole and let the fan stay outside of the boot?

My bike is a 2021Yamaha WR459F The output is AC rather than DC. Do you have an H4 type LED bulb that converts it to DC with some sort of a rectifier built in?

Dunno about you, but I'd have tested that the bulb was good before tightening the screws and installing the plastic bucket.
