I would be stunned if a naked XJR, which is only about 100 hp is capable of that sort of speed without modification, I have a similar vintage RF 900 which although smaller are a much higher output 130 hp and a full fairing and it’s not a shit show it would accelerate that hard at high-speed No top out any faster than that!

@@malcolmwhite6588 but the Yamaha has about 80 foot pounds of torque compared to the Suzuki 73 ft lbs. I've never owned a xjr but I've owned a FJ1200 which has the same motor and I had a RF900 aswell, I had them both at the same time and although I found the Suzuki more comfortable on long distance the Yamaha had much more grunt but the top speed was about the same (although it was a lot easier to ride the Suzuki at high speeds for longer).

Brilliant bike they are. Has my zx9r flat out along that stretch back in 2008.. 179 ish mph on clock i recall.

Owned an SP for 7 years, in a straight line whack open the throttle from 50kph in top and it'd just go all the way..linear power personified....however, on anythind other than a straight the girl was a pig, and would bite you, hard...but you dont by one for racing around, its a fantastic heavy old plotter than can fly... I miss it, but in my mid seventies it was a bit much moving her around and on the mainstand.. bought a 600 Fazer just for fun, and it is.. Ride safe..

I had a FJ1200, what an engine, what a beast! You could go from 20mph to 150 in top gear. That thing would tow a house.

I own a cb400 sf and I test ride an XJR 1300 holly molly the difference was huge ! I still remember that pulled me from my seat when I realeased the throttle plently of torque :D!

Fahr die 1200 von 97 und bereite diese gerade etwas auf, einfach schöne Moppeds. Kann man nicht anders sagen. Wusst aber gar nicht, dass deine sogar rekuperieren kann :D

J'en avais une acheté neuve fin des années 90, le moteur noir. j'avais mis des pipes d'admissions de fj 1200 je prenais presque 260 km/h.... Le bon vieux temps

Yes it is. Faster than the RP06 FJR assuredly. But not nearly as comfortable.

so ganz stabil war sie dann doch nicht bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten mit dem alten Doppelschleifenrahmen. Halt etwas für harte Kerle in der offenen Ausführung. Lies sich spielerisch fahren , besonders in Verbindung mit der R1 Bremse.

@@koerberlinger9837 Krause war in 2000, als ich das Bike gekauft habe, nur einen Steinwurf entfernt und bekannt wie ein bunter Hund für das XJR-Tuning-Kit. Nicht ganz billig, aber auf die Jahre gerechnet eine Top-Investition. 😉

Ich bin zu schwer meine bekomm ich auf max. 220😂
