    Hey Mark, thanks for subscribing bud! I've been lucky with my forks so far, I haven't had to replace the seals yet. If they last through this season, I may do it next winter, just to be sure that they're done and in good shape, plus it'd be a good video to have in the library. You have all the info you need to get it done? Any tips and tricks to share with that, or with fixing the chips in the rims? Lol I've got a few myself, but waiting till I widen the tire to do anything with them. Thanks again for watching and the comment as well, Mark. Stay safe!

    Bryan, May I suggest that any time you remove the cover from the brake reservoir that you cover all painted parts of the bike, around that area, with a heavy towel to protect from potential splash. :)

    No problem Alex! Thanks for the suggestion, I always appreciate the help. Hope the video was able to hit the mark for you and get you all set up. I wouldn't worry about bleeding brakes unless they feel soft after all is said and done, and you could grease the pins, but not necessary either. Thanks again Alex!

    @@RSWarriorBryan Do you clean the brake pads everytime you pull them out to inspect them? I'm guessing you're using brake cleaning spray and wipe them with the cloth. Do you do any sort of maintenance on the rotors by any chance? Thanks again!

  • @RSWarriorBryan

    @RSWarriorBryan

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, just using sprayed on brake cleaner and wiping off. Not really necessary, but since it was the first time I had gotten into mine, I wanted to go ahead and clean them up anyways. I mainly focused on the spring, rod, and calipers. The rotors should be fine unless the pads are work down and have gouged the rotors, or if they've become warped. As long as they're smooth, I wouldn't worry about much more than checking that they're on tight. If you need rotors, let me know and I'll help check around and see what we can come up with.

    Definitely. Everything is right there in the open and you don't have to remove a tire just to get to it. The worst part is probably trying to get everything lined back up to get that pin the slide through it all. Very easily a job that could be done in an hour. Will be doing a video over the back before too long so be sure to watch for it. Thanks for the comment and subscribing as well.

    @@RSWarriorBryan Believe it or not someone makes a tool that spaces the brake pads when assembling them but most people use cardboard or a screwdriver or a flat piece of metal to keep the pins aligned for reassembly.

    Rear brakes are just as easy. The Yamaha Warrior Service manual is available in PDF online to show you pictures and details. www.rswarriordocs.com/manuals/WarriorServiceManual-WO3646.pdf Mine were smooth with even wear on the pads with not too much wear. I was afraid I had "cooked" brake fluid but that was not the case. I just had the brakes serviced 6 months ago and the Master Cylinder and Hydraulics gone over at the shop. Brakes were still tight at the time. I was having to shove my brake pedal all the way to the floor to get any braking with the old pads. Not good when you are up in the mountains with semis trying to pass other semis at 30mph. With the new pads it feels like new. Good braking with little pressure. No sound when braking. Remember to peal the brake shims off the old brake pads and put them on the new rear pads. Yes I had to go back and put them on because I was in a hurry and forgot.

    Hey Bryan, I have another suggestion for a video, if your interested... I don't know anything about checking front fork seals and adding oil? Is that something I should be doing? I don't know if this would be of interest to others, I just thought I'd share. Thanks again for making great tutorials.

  • @RSWarriorBryan

    Definitely something that should be checked. I believe that your forks should be checked every six months or four thousand miles, but not sure off the top of my head. They're not a terrible hard job to replace if the seals are leaking either. I'll check into getting one made, but have a few videos planned out before that one so Iit may be just a bit, but I'll definitely get to it. Once again, thanks for the idea, definitely makes things easier on me.

    Today I looked at my Stratoliners front pads (similar to the Warrior) and sure enough the inside pads were much thinner than the outside pads, just like yours. Only thing I can think of is there's slightly more pressure on that side of the caliper. Must be a thing with that style caliper. The rotors had the same wear pattern though.

    @@kent6732 If your bike was preowned someone might have done a mod. There is a video here on KZread where the guy's Warrior rear reservoir was beside his foot controls. Nice and chromed up and looked like someone had put on a custom type brake setup. Our older bikes are prone to mods by previous owners.

    Sounds like he had some aftermarket forward controls. I know a lot of times they end up replacing the rear reservoir and locating it down right by the controls. I'm talking to a gentleman about trading my stock set up for his forward controls. He purchased the bike and they're too far forward for him. May end up being a video I do in the near future.
