Yamaha Virago 250 (XV250) - Downtown Toronto, Canada
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I took the Virago 250 (XV250) out for its first cruise of 2022!
It was around 13 degrees Celsius here in downtown Toronto and the bike loved every minute of that beautiful weather.
It was perfect timing as I just installed the aftermarket exhaust pipes, air pods filters, 10.5" lower rear springs, 17T/40T sprockets with a new 112 link chain.
The bike ran great and the sprockets turned this into a completely different bike. Much more enjoyable with the taller gearing.
I didn't have a microphone for my voice but I'll go for another ride on the next nice day and do some commentary on the mods and let you know how I like them. - Stealth

Perfect sound for commuting. Not too loud but a nice and deep burble. 👍

I prefer original.
I just bought a 2018 V Star 250. I like the throaty sound of it. It has a smooth sound to it while accelerating...with a lil gear whine.
Planning to get one for a first bike i hope i am not disappointed with this cool bike
Toronto used to be so beautiful, now it looks like Cleveland. Nice vid though.
Aw fist bumping another fellow Canadian
Nice. Just got one today.
Another Virago owner here, mine is an 88!! First bike for me as well, I’m in the Brampton area. Thanks for all these vids, gives me some ideas for mine too
Sounds awsome

@@MotoGearSolid i heard my '93 run and it sounded better then my 2018 honda cb 500 x. Both have stock exhausts. I had a cbr 125 r to start out on. The exhaust broke just before the dampener. It went from lawn mower to a proper sounding bike. I did fix it
I have a 2012 vtar 250 with 1300 miles in great condition. Im looking to do some mods as well. I think your bike sounds excellent! Where did you get the exhaust from?

I’m actually having an issue with what I think is the starter and/or regulator rectifier. Brand new battery, only starts with a boost. I can hear the starter whine a bit and then a clicking when attempting a normal start. Once the bike is started, choke is taken off and it will run for several minutes before cutting off if no throttle is applied
Sounds good! Did the exhaust affect the horsepower at all?

@@MotoGearSolid after you did the exhaust, jet kit and AirPods filters, did you have to adjust idle throttle, mid throttle or full throttle? Also, did you do anything with the carb needle jet?
i wish i could ride my XV 125 with the straight pipes here in Germany, but i had to stay calm with the dB killers. Still sounds great for a 125 :D

@@MotoGearSolid Yeah, thats why i keep mine in. Because its way too loud. And the 125 you have to get on RPM's for the Power. So its really annoying for other people.

@@manwithvirago62 In the US, Japan, the UK and many other places people “survive” the loud pipes as well, without complaining much. People should just stfu, as long as it’s not at night, or very early in the morning, right in front of their house. 🤷♂️

@@DarthVader-1701 There's lots to do in the city after you do that. :)
do you have a link to the exhaust?
😮 seeing this wholes and patches on the asfalt, I thought it was my third world country 😅
Best and most inexpensive mod is to remove the stupid gas tank stickers.
did you do the mods yourself?

I have been thinking of getting a bike! but I got to get me M class license first. Make me curious if it a good bike that's worth my money for a long trip despite on having a bigger bike, if you know what i mean. for example that you swapped the gear drives. how does it perform? does it beat out on a highway than stock?

i dont see why i wouldn't do it. why do you think that is isn't recommended? chances it'd break down? or run out of fuel?

@@HighAway From my experience there are a few problems: 1) wind is really annoying since its a light bike. Maybe it could be solved with a fairing (?) not sure. For me wind is fine if i don't go over ~95km/h (but i have a 535 so don't know if its different with the smaller cc ones). 2) legs are positioned in a way that after a while you feel like they're getting pushed to the sides so that could be annoying over very long distances, that could maybe be solved with different foot pegs, not sure 3) small fuel capacity (although some virago models have a reserve tank) For me I usually drive an hour then i take a small break
aha just took my 250 virago for a spin the same day

Yea they are a good customization platform. But what’s cool is they’re pretty nice stock too.

What handlebars are those?

Yamaha switched from a buckhorn handlebar to a straight bar on a riser in about 2013.

Toronto looks a lot like 1980s US city. It's noticeably poor and lacks the infrastructure. I could compare it to Shenyang, China's 13th largest city.
