Thank you for the video. I have one small semantic correction to make. Each "blank" key has a unique code, you don't actually "program" de fob key, but the ECU by letting it learn the new key which will be added to the allow list of codes stored inside the ECU.

I have an Fjr1300 2005 Gen1 lost the key today so will order a blank key with chip. I have the red key and one black key. Will doing this change the code so the lost key won't work if found but how do I program both keys

PS... where did you get your key to programme please...??

Alot of the current Yamahas use the same key. I drive the MT07 and an XSR700. They both use the same key as the R1/R6... Should you get your key and chip seperately, you need a 4D-69 chip/transponder.

doesn't work for 2015 r1... unless I'm an idiot, but watched this video, reviewed instructions and tried several times. could be the process has changed in new bikes, or my ecu is fucked from when thieves some the bike the managed to hack the ecu to register their black key WITHOUT having the red key (which I possessed the whole time). They have somehow unregistered my old black keys, but my original red still works. however I can't re-register my black's following these instructions

Hi, i have this funny thing going on with my immobilzer (R1 2004). When i put the key in. Same with both black and red key, the red light stays on. Can still start the bike fine. Light stays steady on for the whole ride. Red light works as normal when removing the keys. Flashes the way it should. What can be wrong you think?

@Solar Group Yes, the authorized dealer told me he programmed it away. But frankly, i dont trust him a bit. He told me that the immobilzer was now working fine except for the light, but that i will try now next month when season starts since i barely got with me the the old key since he again told me he swapped the Cpu. I havent yet followed more up on this, since this was at end of last season. I have another case going related to this. Bike was registered as reduced 106hk bike (EU thing from way back) and he reprogrammed it to full power, but i need dealers papers from Yamaha to get it registered as full power

Hi mate, what to do if my red key is lost?

if I have the original Red Key, original black Key, original ECU but installed a NEW ignition barrel, is there a way to make this work somehow? Only the ignition barrel was taken from my bike and I have everything else original left... I'm hoping not to have to get the new ECU with new ignition barrel

Hello, is it possible to program fresh key with new transponder by myself (Yamaha FZ6)? I have 2 original keys (1 red and 1 black). I've just bought blank key and transponder 4D69. When I try to code new key it constantly shows me an 52 error code. When I'm programming original black key there is no problem.

That 52 error happened with me when i programed my new black key. After this, the old key was not recognized and the red light started blinking. I started the procedure step by step and in that 5 seconds window, i put the two black keys, old and new and it was ok.

You can try to buy the transponder chip separately and insert it into the blank key There should be pre cut slot for the chip.

Marcin Stolz you’ll need to use a very thin flat screw driver or a stanly blade type of tool to pry out the old dummy chip and replace it with the new one.

@@vegancorrxyz Well, i've got the transponder from a local reseller, ordered one on ali, but it did not come... A locksmith cut the key, it turns, but there is no way i can manage the shown method of coding the key... I will try to do it at a locksmith maybe.

iv only got a black key to start my bike will this work with that?

You need a master key to do this procedure and usually they are red however it’s still worth a try.

FJR1300 - 04 I have replaced the old switch with a new ignition switch with red key. Bike cant start, of course. How do I match this new ignition switch to the transponder?

Wish I had known about this system before I bought the bike. Expensive pain in the ass. Feeling screwed by dealer who didn't reveal upfront that they only had one key.

Has anyone tried on 3 keys successfully? I've tried 2 with success but no luck on the 3rd piece.

Fareed Tareen bro you need a red master key to copy another key! Perhaps your red key isn’t a master key! But you should be able to get a copy made from the key shop but just going to be more expensive.
