    I don't even ride motorbikes, despite being surrounded by them my whole life. I'm 32 this year and I'm getting divorced soon. The T7, to me, is perfect, and once I learn to ride I'll be looking to get one. It just seems perfect. Time to start living my life. This video was awesome!

    Riding is unbelievably therapeutic. I’ve been riding for a while and this is would be a great bike to learn on. Just the seat height might intimidating but don’t be. Once u get used to it u won’t be an issue. No bike will ever check all boxes but this is pretty close. U can buzz around the city, tour and take it off road and it doesn’t have all the aids so u will actually learn how to ride.... like we all did ten years ago. Think also this is the most reliable engine on the market.

    I currently ride a big 290kg VFR1200X Crosstourer. I too use crash bar bags (2x 12L). They distribute the weight more evenly and act as airbags when you do tip over. I've been wanting the T7 since summer 2019 when I had an hour of test riding. I'm a novice/intermediate offroader, but I could rip the **** out of this bike 5 min after I left the dealer and went offroad. Brought a handbrush with me to return the bike clean and tidy ;). Can't wait for the first batch of used T7's to hit the market. This video nicely shoes all the accessories we currently have!

    I’ve made the Alaska/Prudhoe Bay/Tuktoyaktuk trip several times on my BMW 1200GS. The next time I’d like to try it on a smaller bike. I have a Husqvarna 701 that I might use if I can get the extra fuel and luggage sorted out. I’m 71 now and I can see myself moving to a smaller bike in the future like the 890.

    Amazing attention to detail and wow, what a super clean shop, impressive! I'd suggest checking out Mosko Moto soft (frameless) luggage. It's bulletproof, will sit closer to the bike, and save a ton of weight by eliminating those hefty steel, rear luggage racks.

  • @waltersprang

    @waltersprang

    3 жыл бұрын

    Peter Ansel thanks! I looked at Mosko closely but decided for my needs the racks were more suitable for my personal needs. Planning on a long ride over 12k miles on the bike. Need to haul gas and water. When I ride local they are coming off!

  • @seayak
    @seayak3 жыл бұрын

    That's a sharp looking bike!. Yamaha could take a lesson from your colour and decal treatment - that tank looks WAY better than the stock colour scheme, and really pops with the blue crash bars and rims. I will be interested to hear how the soft luggage works out - have just ordered one SW Motech Sysbag 15 and mounting plate for the rear SW Motech "Adventure Rack" before committing to side rack and panniers.

    Your Tenere looks awesome! My favorite custom modded variant thus far. I'm in Austin TX, and we finally got one in town at the shop around the corner from my house, so I went in and sat on it yesterday. I have a TW200 and a '73 RD350. The Tenere is what I was looking into for a longer distant adventure bike. Unfortunately without lowering it, I don't think it works for me. I don't feel comfortable with how hight the seat height is. I am actually still concerned with it even if I get a lower seat and lowering link.... Sounds like you have a Super Tenere too, so you must not have any issues with the seat height :)

  • @waltersprang

    @waltersprang

    4 жыл бұрын

    I cannot speak to lowering it, etc. but I just installed the rally seat and it added at least another inch in height. I’m 6’ 2” and starting to have to reach a bit. The super 10 has a Corbin in the lowered position

    Man you have a nice garage setup, pc ready to look things up. Nice space to work, beautiful mx 5, tenere. Living the dream man. Yeah, those rear pannier frames are very wide man. Not sure if the 700 comes out with anything narrower. On my 660 I have standard Yamaha boxes which sits much tighter to the bike, but still too wide for me. At the least the frame hugs the bike much closer. You're almost as wide as a car now. But guess on back roads, there'll be less overtaking or lane splitting.

  • @waltersprang

    You did an awesome job on this bike! So cool! Looks ready for the Dakar!👍🏻 Best of luck with it. How does this bike cruise on the Highway? At 80-85 mph, are you up high in the revs? I’m asking because I have an 18’ Street Triple R and I’m thinking of trading it in for an Adventure bike or Sport Tourer now instead. I’d be commuting to work on the Highway a lot, so that’s why I’m asking. Great video!

    Looking good! When are you coming to Alaska? Been enjoying my T7 here since June. I’ve got mixed feelings about the high fender mount. The looks of the high mount is the best but the amount of dirt and mud the OEM keeps off the engine and radiator is great. Not sure how much calcium chloride you’ve rode in but once it dries it’s hard as a rock and say goodbye to cooling. Bike looks amazing!

    I hope to come in June 21 (Canada has to be open!). I have heard about the calcium chloride being an issue and a bike wash is a must after riding through it! I did get the high fender mounted and it looks great and appears it will be functional, but with more exposure on the radiator for sure.

    Thanks man! I really cannot as I did not weigh them before putting them on. For me, the weight factor is minimal compared to the protection and ability to carrier soft luggage.
