Yamaha Tenere 700 and Kriega Overlander-S Luggage System

Soft luggage solution for my Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally Edition, using the OEM luggage racks for flexibility. Kriega Overlander-S system is a good looking and rugged system, easy to mount. NOTE: If you dont already have the OEM Racks you may be better served with the X-Racks from Kriega: kriega.com/adventure/yamaha-x...

    Dear Sven, First of all thank you for your videos and your detailed explanations. I have a Tenere 700 with the OEM hard panniers and I would like to use soft panniers for my off road trips. My question is: can I fit the Kriega Overlander-S panniers without the special plates. I mean directly fixed to the pannier supports and the two straps over the seat (maybe with some additional straps to guarantee a good fixing). Thanks again.

    Hi no I think you will have to buy the plattform plates and the Tenere 700 specific adapter for the right side.

    You have the tool box up front, but I have to use the saddle bags for them so their weight goes up a lot. I have the Wolfman saddlebags and their attachment to the Wolfman racks are fiddly. But with the extra weight I also have the over the seat straps which may be better in practice than the Kriega system. For light bags the Kriega system is very slick. However; you have the added weight of the mounting plate. Guess you can have lighter weight - extra fiddly, more weight - easier to mount. For some reason I thought you had saddlebags for the CB500X but on review I guess not. Will you adapt the Kriega system to the CB500X?

    I am very happy with the Giant Loop Coyote for my Honda, but I may adapt the Kriega system to the Honda yes :-) It will make it easier to switch between the two bikes (if I keep both which is the plan)

    Hi Sven, a little question here. You mentioned that these racks plate are compatible with rotopax, do you think that there is enough space on the inside of those plates to put a small rotopax ?

    That looks like a very sturdy luggage system for worry free motorcycling. I wonder why you might want hard luggage when that soft luggage is so good. Do the brackets, platforms and bags weigh much?

    @@thetubelesschannel thanks Sven. I see it is the original rack from Yamaha then. I would need then: 1) OEM rack 2: platforms (1 standard + 1 exhaust side) 2) bags.... Anything else? Regarding removing the bags fromt he bikes: doesn't it seems that the system of Mosko is faster with the attachment plate they use?

  • @thetubelesschannel

    @thetubelesschannel

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@EllenBrand yes Mosko Moto seems faster but it requires the plate also on the bags which probably makes the bags a bit heavier. The items you listed is what you need yes :-)

    Looks quite wide, even wider then with a Side Carriers because you need to straighten up side with exhaust pipe.

  • @thetubelesschannel

    Yes its wide bot not as wide as with Yamaha hard cases. These soft bags also compress when you don't carry full bags. The Yamaha hard cases is 35 liters each. These softbags is 33 liters left and 22 liters right fully expanded. Weight is lower. What side carriers did you have in mind ?
