these speaks are gorgeous. that inbetween floor and bookshelf. then the contrast gloss to matte metal finishes. the large driver is what makes it. is that dome midrange? this is the way to go, the more that think about. less weight due to lack of parts like spider, and cone. also not worried about the space relationship between the back and front of cone equals time difference, think??

indopleaser domes can also have their own issues, being a more flexible material, or having rocking effect due to lack of second suspension points. What I would like to see is someone create a flat honeycomb sandwich midrange driver like a few did in the 80’s and 90’s

Hi. What's the name of the Daft Punk album playing here ? I have a small pair of Yamaha NS-N500 network powered speakers and they sound really good. I'd love to have something this good from Yamaha or even some of their floor standing. The only other speakers I would listen to are probably Monitor Audio Gold floor standing speakers. I don't think any other speaker can come close or beat them for the price.

Thanks for the vid, but there's no way they would be using a WXA50 as the source for the AS3000. The small volume dial on the front indicates that it's actually the WXC50. This is a digital streamer / pre-amplifier, whereas the WXA50 is the integrated amplifier. You can see the difference in volume dial difference as a WXA50 is shown driving a pair of Soavo stand mount speakers near the start of the video, while the smaller volume dial of the WXC50 is clear to see under the AS3000 + matching CD player.

The few reviews of the AS3000 are all good. Sad that we all feel that a Yamaha should not be priced so high. Even I myself am prejudiced ... I would think 3-4 times before dishing out something like USD6k for a Yamaha. For that price the first thing that comes to mind are the top brands of even Italian/German amplifiers. The AS3000 isn't worth the $7000 it costs. It was discovered that it uses the exact same components as the A-S1100, with only the capacitors being slighly bigger. So if you're buying an AS3000 instead of the A-S1100, you're pretty much wasting $6000 for a few very minor upgrades.

@@phuang3 The Yamaha already is up there dude, it meets all of it's specifications, it's already far below 1% thd, 1% thd and lower, you really will not be able to hear or tell the difference, idc if you're talking $20,000 speakers or not, specs by the point of where that Yamaha is only looks good on paper by that point, its far below any body's perception of distortion. Even with top quality drivers, a speaker, even highend monitors like the b&w 800 series is still above that 1% mark anyway, and those are designed like you wouldn't believe, even the scan speak stuff.... You must be one of those types of people that feel anything under 8 grand is trash lmao. Or even one of those people who think silver cables or 50 dollar power cables make a difference... The only drivers that will make it below that mark are pretty much ribbon tweeters and potentially some midranges, woofers and subwoofers, absolutely not, they might be around 3% or more especially when you reach their Xmax limits, idc if its morel or whatever other highend manufacturer you wanna put in place... Its still going to hold true.. Also, that comment you made about luxman gear is flat out wrong... Either that Yamaha or luxman will still give pretty much what they can handle, perhaps if you go for a bryston amplifier you would hear a bit of a difference, those are measured at 0.005% and come with a 20 year warranty, recording studios use those because they are pretty much bullet proof and sound as neutral as you can get, even then why bother, it just won't make much of a difference if at all, by that point, you are paying for build quality. Still, you look inside that Yamaha, its made with all name brand components, its made to last... You get to a point eventually where it will be pretty much a placebo effect, only thing that would change it considerably are tubes, and they are usually above 1%thd, even in a well designed amplifier, just their even order harmonics make things more pleasing to hear... Istg, there is so much snake oil and ignorance involved with this type of stuff... Don't get me wrong I'm not claiming to know it all, but ive read and studied things more then enough to not fall in the trap of thinking a 50k amplifier is some how better then stuff that is cheaper... Like that Macintosh 1.2kw Amp that is 100,000 dollars, its nice, but aint worth it...

redleather100 I don’t have any Yamaha gear, but I do wish they made the NS5000 available where I live. I really don’t care for the gear you own except for Proac. The fact that you think you can discern what a system truly sounds like through a KZread video is truly mind boggling. You’re either an idiot or a genius. So far I’ve seen nothing from you to support the latter. It’s not about how much money you spend to get a good sounding system. It’s about how smartly you spend it. My acoustic room treatment costs less than what most audiophiles spend for their speaker cables. Yet it has far more beneficial effects to sound than any cable or any electronics for that matter. So if someone starts to boasts about his £30,000 speakers, £25,000 amps, and £6,000 cables in his living room with little or no room treatment, all I can do is roll my eyes because in almost all cases the system will sound like crap.
