Yamaha Portasound PSS-11 - compact keyboard with AWM sounds
Музыка
The Yamaha PSS-11 is a small keyboard from 1992 with an AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) tone generator, as Yamaha tried to put more realistic sounds based on samples into their home keyboard range, seen as a step up from the FM sound chips that had dominated the PSS range in the second half of the 90s.
The PSS-11 has only 39 basic sounds, including percussion. The rest of the 100 voices on offer are variations of the other 39, including layered dual voice, split keyboard, extra sustain, harmony (changing harmony in step with the auto accompaniment), and echo (a rudimentary delay effect that changes delay time in step with the tempo).

Yes, it's one of those under-the-radar mini keyboards
Wow. Instant buy on my local ads website. It reminds me of my Casio SA 10, but with more realistic sounds, Damn the drums are surprisingly good. Fantastic snappy happy composition as always.

I have one of these somewhere! Though I don't know how you managed to record it in such quality! Tried to do recording of it once with a microphone but I never managed to make it sound that clean. Either way, excellent video!
Really god sound
Love It!!!🥂
I had the PSS 780 😊

Yep, they had definitely moved on from all the FM based sounds of the mid to late 80s.
Nice
Just when I thought I was done with toy keyboards, he pulls me back in! I need that orchestral hit. Does it have a PSR twin? Excellent composition as always!

@@alfonsemusic I just counted 32 in my storage room. Borderline hoarding and I’ve really been wanting to minimize my possessions. I’d probably only keep the VSS-30, SK-1, PT-20, MT-40 and PSS-100

PSS-11/21/31 and PSR-75/110/150 are all different variations on the same design. Several of them also have drum pads.
