Hi, did you still keep the guitar? I need help, I bought the same guitar but have a weird noise on a pickup.

"dees pickup is made by guy we don't know, we don't tell his name, so maybe he is mad someplace that he did not get the name check." wahahaha an update, to my previous comment - i ended buying this beauty and let me say, i have NO complaints. i must have gotten the top of the crop cuz i can semi abuse the whammy bar (which i IDID get) and the guitar stays in tune. of course, i switched the strings to 9 guauge coated and got a proper setup/intonation. this guitar ROCKS.

ok, enough on his horrible accent, this is the best demonstration i've seen so far. beautiful guitar, yamaha does not cease to impress me - there's one of these 612v guitars at a local guitar shop, used, made in korea - excellent shape. I played it, and dunno if they were still factory strings, but it still felt great to play. They're letting it go for $650. A steal? I think so ;) Nice playing by the way... I think I'm gonna go get it this afternoon!

@MITCHWILD yes I did... this guitar is awesome. Look up my latest video to see it in action. tremolo bar + bridge system works flawlessly. wouldn't trade it in for $1000... highly recommended. Long live Yamaha products/instruments!!

Actually, this model has two *Yamaha* branded single coils with that (splittable) Seymour Duncan JB at the bridge, and it splits really nicely via a push-PUSH Tone knob. The Yamaha SCs are probably not quite as nice as Duncan SCs but not bad at all, really quite useable. Upgrading is not necessary unless you happen to live on those pickups. IMO. I have this same model, same color and all. Very very nice guitar, as are all the upper end Pacificas (to my experience).
