Great work. Lots of people hate on this Niken but even as someone who's blood is green, you have to give Yamaha props for trying to innovate. I think its a fantastic bike, especially after riding one. Excellent project!

There's a lot narrow minded idiots on here, I've had over 20 bikes, in over 30 plus years riding, they can't grasp it's a 2 front wheel traction machine, and you can lane split on one still, as you can on a Piaggio MP3, the same principle.

I have a 2019 model , I recently purchased it 6/7/2022 with 1956 miles on the ODO. It's like a new Bike and not really broke in yet , I really like mine , it performs well , the wind screen could be bigger, i get lots of looky loos on the road since people didn't know they made these ... usually " Motor Heads or Gear Heads " will follow me to check it out. I will check into replacing the Wind Screen . Haven't felt the front wheels slipping yet and i feel comfortable knowing that it's not going to fly out from under me ...

When I rode the niken a few weeks ago, it screamed more power... an MT10 engined version is definitely needed...

Would love to see Yamaha sponsor this Turbo Niken to do a Pikes Peak run. That should get the attention of those who don’t see this as a bike.

This is exactly what Yamaha should be doing to the Niken themselves, everyone will want one, when they go like a bastard!

I think these are very cool. I still haven't seen one on the roads yet, its neat to see a manufacturer do something so different and bring it to production. Throwing the turbo on it just makes it that much more unique! Paint is awesome also!

The 2023 Niken due out very soon comes with a little more power. Engine up from 847 to 890cc. TFT display, 10mm lower/narrower seat for improved reach to the ground, throttle by wire, hard bags, and a few other revisions.

The more I read into these Yamaha Niken trikes, the more I like the fact its massively safer for riders. yes, two wheeled bikes are nice, but the trike in this case with its dual front end wheels takes road safety to a new level of protection. As other KZread videos have shown with this trike and two-wheeled bikes. Two Wheeled has inherently more potential to slip out and tumble over. It's documented and proven in Test Courses. This Yamaha version, like the others of dual front end, massively reduces this effect. So, Bikemetv, what do you think is better for the common commuter driver? Reduce or pretty much eliminate dumping your bike on wet roadways, or difficult turns? Not everyone is extremely proficient as some two wheeled drivers. We are talking about the casual commuter. I'm thinking of looking into this particular bike, because I'm a left leg amputee. There are specifics of this Trike that bring me back to wanting to drive this type of bike. I'm kind of partial to the Honda version but it hasn't been released for sale in North America. I don't like the CanAm Trike Spyder myself, but I do like the read ups on Honda Neowing, or the Yamaha Niken. Safety to me is imperative, and the dual wheel and factor of safety of these particular bikes or trikes makes me believe this is the way to go.

If the engine is between your legs, technically you’re riding, and it’s a bike. It’s the rules we had to establish to convince new scooters they were driving, not riding.

They should improve from this and modify the frame for feet forwards or recumbent rise position and make the front and rear end fully faired. 300+ kph and ridiculously low mileage.

the same power in a maxi scooter size so I can go to shop everywhere... with the Niken I even can't hold the helmet !!!
