Thank you very much, I have just bought the Yamaha Montage M8x and was struggling to play the ESP plug-in, using my Korg Liano, Cubase and a Mac. Your instructional Video pointed out that on ESP settings, it must be set to channel 1. Somehow it had been set to channel 16. Thanks again. Graham

⁠Hello, I have a problem, everything was working fine with my MacBook Air, ESP & Korg Liano. I have now noticed the ESP sound is coming out of the laptops speakers rather than the Liano. The volume knob has no effect, all the settings point to Liano in, Liano sound out. Music files play from the Mac to the Liano no problem, when I remove the usb cable I get a prompt asking if I want to use the Mac’s speakers, when I plug it back in, the prompt clears. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks Graham

Hi Moessieurs I have managed to sort out the problem that was described in my previous post. I made sure, all midi inputs were selected, then I selected the ASIO driver for the liano. Everything thing is working now as planned. Thanks Graham

⁠Ive been trying to find out the correct control change for the main ARP on / off, have you any ideas? No rush for an answer, its midnight in Cumbria England, must be even later in France. 😊

@@graham8162 Hi, it's not a control change, it's a dedicate setting, perhaps sysex, you can see in Utility, settings, MIDI I|O for foot switch assignement, after CC95 you have dedicate settings like Arp On/off, Live Set +/- ....i need to check in deeper way, perhaps tomorrow end day i can, now it's band rehearsal time.

Hi I managed to sort out an alternative solution within ESP itself, please see below. When selecting say scene 2 in mixing, turn ARP on and underneath ARP Master off, this will set the ARP master to off. When selecting scene 3, turn ARP on and underneath ARP master on. This will make it possible to switch the master ARP on and off using Scenes and I’m changing scenes using CC messages on my iPhone. The above is working brilliantly for me, having the M8x at home and a practice set up when in our caravan, it’s a game changer for me. Well worth the asking price, With advice / guidance when required, nothing else comes close. Thanks Graham

@@graham8162 well done, I have check and the Camelot pro midi monitor does not see it as a sysex message or control change, it’s a dedicate control, so using scene memory is the good way 👍

Question How to use two midi devices at the same time with the yamaha E.S.P. plugin. I currently own a new montage M8x and have managed to hook up my MacBook air & E.S.P. with my Korg liano piano for practice. Everything going well with the sounds coming out of the liano’s speakers. (With your help, please see previous posts) I’m wanting to add extra flexibility by using my iPhone, using the MIDI controller app. At the moment I can change scene’s, add modulation to change the leslie speed and stop and start the arpeggio. I can get them to work separately ie alter the settings for the Liano within ESP, but I have to close down cubase and create a new project for the Iphone to work, then I loose out on the Liano. I can’t weigh up, how to get them working together. Any ideas would be much appreciated. P.S. I have the iPhone connected via a cable to the MacBook. Thanks Graham

Hi Graham, thank you for your question, not sure Korg Liano support audio thru it's usb connection, on Korg site it's write "Liano/KORG USB-MIDI Driver " and not "USB MIDI AUDIO" driver, if on Cubase settings, Liano is not view as an audio interface, you cannot use it's speakers to have ESP audio through it, if you have install the driver and Cubase see it as audio interface, set it as audio device as output device

⁠it’s very strange, everything was working perfectly and cubase recognised it as a audio interface. Until I stripped everything thing down and connected everything the following day.

@@graham8162 so check on studio , studio setup, audio system what it recognize as audio interface, if it set the Mac speaker, assign the Korg. After go on studio, audio connexion, output and be sure the korg is set as Main L/R

⁠Fantastic its worked, the secret was as you said in Audio System, under the ASIO Driver, it had Built in Audio. Changed this to Liano line out and everything else fell into place. Having the option to have this practice set up in a caravan, a M8x with it’s superb keyboard action at home with the possibility of using the Modx8 for playing live is dream come true. Just another question, is it not possible to control tempo for the arpeggios in ESP.

Hi, thank you for this question, I have it on two laptop and one desktop, but I’m on a dedicated trainer licence. Simply install it from the download manager on each computer and use the Steinberg activation. Manager to validate them, if you see that you cannot install on the third you will know it’s limited at two. So install it on the two most important computer you need first and check for the third.

Hi,Select a folder then bottom right the explorer window, you clic on "Select a folder" or Enter, when you have done that, it open the Cubase Empty project.

Beautiful, could I make it sound like a dx7 with some plugin/vst? Nice job.

Hi ESP have the FM-X engine, no need more VST, it's a VSTi. Set sine waveform only, use 6 operators and do not use system and insertion FX, filter, and you will be very close to the DX7. You can load dx7 sounds thru the online Yamaha FM converter and load them as library inside the Montage M shop.usa.yamaha.com/en/fmconverter/index/converter Only Montage M users have access to ESP, you need to buy a Montage M to have this VSTi.

Hi, thank you for your comment, you're right, i forget in this video to show this point, it's easy, it's like for any VST3 or Auv3 instrument you can use in cubase, top the performance name, on VST preset name with by default is empty, made a right clic and set "save preset". To load a preset already save made a right clic and set load preset, for French users it's sauver préréglage et charger préréglage. Hope it's help Ps you do not need to ask 3 time the same question on the 3 videos, as channel owner, i see all comments by notifications, i delete the two others.

@@user-vk3cf1qv4u you save each Vsti presets inside your DAW dedicate area to save the VSTi preset on your computer. You can sync this VSTi preset with your Montage M, store it in your Montage M user area,; use the Sync icon on ESP to do that, dump to Montage M and press store button on Montage M to store it as user performance inside Montage M. At this i do not know if there is any plan to load library alone in ESP final version that will be release this summer. Actualy, you can load only user file and backup file.

Hi Polyphony is the same than on Montage M hardware, 128 notes for AWM2 presets waveforms, 128 notes for AWM2 user/library waveforms, 128 notes for FM-X, 16 notes for AN-X. If your computer have enough CPU and RAM you can opening several ESP instances in the same time. If your computer have not enough CPU / Ram you can set the Lite setting inside ESP and reduce polyphony by 2 if need. Cheers
