    Nice work KC. The reason it goes off scale when you let off the throttle is because the machine will cut fuel in deceleration., totally normal. Curious if you watched my vids on installing the Koso, I installed the same thing on my grizzly about a year ago after installing the EHS programmer. I also did the EHS air box lid which helped a lot. I've sense gone back to the factory exhaust because the I couldn't take the noise of the HMF pipe.

But decided to go with power commander because of the ability to make new maps on your own. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Hi Quad Dad that’s a great question. There is a couple of reasons, one The extra expense of the auto tune unit itself. The other is I done some research on that and from what other folks were saying it doesn’t build a very good map because of the way a quad is ridden off and on the throttle. It’s not like a motorcycle for the street where you could cruise and it can do a better job at building a Nice map. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Excellent video KC! Very interesting! I have some questions and I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to fuel systems, so bear with me buddy: After installing everything, you said the bike was running correctly from factory (or at least that's what my brain heard). Does that mean you didn't need to install all this stuff? Or does that mean "running correctly" isn't good enough? Running lean means: Less fuel to air mixture right? Does that add more power or just increase fuel mileage? A supercharger or turbocharger on a vehicle forces more air into the fuel system. Does it also increase the fuel consumption by an equivalent percentage or does it increase the air over fuel percentage? Thanks for your help my friend!

  • @kcatv9556

    @kcatv9556

    4 жыл бұрын

    Quaddingsous . Hey buddy.. Where to start, Your first question Did I need to install all the stuff the answer is no. When I said the machine was running correctly I’m basing that on a happy medium of the air fuel ratio power versus fuel economy. A engine will make the most power in the 12.9 air fuel ratio range. but will get better Fuel economy in the mid to upper 13 range. So that’s where Yamaha had this thing running at. The best of both worlds. But that statement can be subjective based on what you would rather have. The most power or the best fuel economy. So no if you’re not planning on altering your airflow then in this case a Programmer is not needed. So why did I do all of this? You heard me say I’m going to make some modifications to the machine which is going to require changing my air fuel ratio and then that’s where the programmer Will come in to play. The other reason why I’m doing all this is. I’m getting bored with the machine, I mean not quite as boring as a Honda. but you know what I’m saying I need to do something with it..LOL Sorry I had to get that little jab in there. Hahahahaha!! As far as turbo or super charged yes that forces more air into the system so in return you have to send more fuel to get the air fuel ratio in the correct range. The more air you can get into an engine the more power it will make. But of course you have to send more fuel in with it as well. So the air fuel ratio gauge is just something to monitor your engine to see if it is running correctly or not lean or rich I’m saying. I think the next video will help explain a lot of this for you. Thanks for the comment buddy thanks for watching too!!

    @@kcatv9556 I have the autotune on my rubicon. The nice thing is the autotune gets you in the ballpark and then you ride and adjust the map the way you want it. Then you leave the autotune enabled but just limit what it can add/remove. This way when the temperatures change or your change fuel or altitude its still running off your base map but has room to auto compensate for the difference and keep things in the sweet spot. I installed my autotune o2 sensor Just a bit before the muffler. This way its not as hot as it would be close the engine and might extend the life of the o2 sensor.
