Yamaha FX WaveRunner skis Suwannee River to "activate" a park for Amateur Radio & POTA

I ski 54 solo miles RT on the Suwannee River to "activate" a new park for its inauguration! Its cold and wild and a lonely ride. This is called Parks on the Air or POTA. Once there I use the magic of amateur radio to make contacts in different states and different countries to officially activate the park with at least 10 contacts! Then its time to get home safely! (this video is about: Bob Broeking, WhiteSpider, Jet Skiing, Jet Ski, Yamaha Waverunners, FX Cruiser, VX Cruiser, Seadoo's, jet skiing on lakes, jet skiing on rivers, jet skiing in the Gulf of Mexico, jet skiing in the Ocean, jet skiing in Natural Springs, how to jet ski in Florida, adventure Jet Skiing)

I took my 16’ Jon boat down the Alapaha river and Suwannee last month. The water was stupid high. The jet ski looks like a nice way to get to those parks without needing a lot of water.

Yes when I shot this video and the first one about Amateur radio the water levels were low. When I put out the third video filmed a week later you will see the river is at least two feet higher and I had a hard time finding a sand bar to beach on… thanks for watching and commenting! Bob

Trust but verify (for things left behind). Wearing that hat backwards is for added coverage upfront.

I have to agree completely with you on both counts.... I just had this nagging feeling I left something on that beach... better to go back and check. And I did notice even though I wore my hat on backwards (I like it like that) it does give better frontal coverage. You are a keen observer and subscriber to see that! Thanks for watching... it appears you watched almost the whole video! :-) Bob

Bob what kind of cold weather gear do you use

I use a wetsuit for really cold weather where I might be in the water. For cold weather on calm water I wear Neoprene shorts and top with a Gore Windstopper jacket and neoprene gloves and my trusty ski hat. I also have neoprene booties but rarely have to wear them.
