Had a chance to play on one of these acoustic/electric grand pianos from the late 70s and early 80s, the Yamaha CP 80. Grand piano action, with strings, but no sound board - piezo pick ups instead.
Жүктеу.....

I played piano and keyboard and was in a few bands, and did a lot of recording. I'd say I was really good, but I never reached this level of skill, and I never had the proper touch for an electric piano, even though it's my favorite instrument. You are really great, and have a tremendous sound. Beautiful instrument as well.

Well played, Sir! Always good to know where the middle C is! ;) I had a CP-80 from 1981 thru 1995, and I still miss it. While the sound was unique but not very versatile, the action was superb.

Love this!! I had a Yamaha CP-30 back in the 1980's, but always liked the Yamaha electric grand sound so much better. Was a big fan of the electric grand piano that Leon Russell played on the road in the 80's, I believe it was a Yamaha CP-70, but I could be wrong. I saw him live once in the mid 80's, at a small saloon, and he was playing the electric grand. He could make that thing sing!

For the past few years I've gotten really into old electric pianos after Arctic Monkeys started using a Wurly and I immediately fell in love with it (odd band to get it from I know, but it's one of my favorite bands) anyways I figured I wanted to know what a proper CP 80 sounded like, as all i knew it from before was a shitty preset on my cheap Yamaha keyboard. So I looked up this video and I absolutely love the sound of it! Would love to have one of these someday, and from what I can see they are cheaper than any Wurlitzer or Rhodes out there so might go for it some time

this must be the later run of the CP80 because it has the parametric EQ like my CP60 does. I have a CP80 with the old knob style EQ and only one effects loop.

Still think that in a soul/funk/blues/jazz context the CP80 is still the best key-instrument you can have in your mix - second only maybe to a rhodes.

It is a true amplified piano. It has strings on a harp just like an acoustic baby grand, except instead of a soundboard, the strings are amplified by piezoelectric pickups like those used in acoustic guitars.
