Yamaha CD-C600 5-disc CD changer | Crutchfield

Ғылым және технология

Yamaha's CD-C600 5-disc CD changer has been a top choice of Crutchfield customers for years now, thanks to its reliability, sound quality, and convenience features. If you've got a CD collection, it's hard to beat the quality of one of these changers.
Yamaha CD-C600: www.crutchfield.com/i-rYTVc2G...
When they came out originally, 5-disc changers were a revelation: put in 5 discs, hit "shuffle," and the party had all the music it needed. The CD-C600 has a really cool feature that lets you keep playing a disc while you open the tray and swap the other discs.
Yamaha also put a USB input on the front panel so you can listen to a thumb drive full of music or even an older iPod.
Crutchfield, America's trusted electronics specialist since 1974, has award-winning customer service, free lifetime tech support, and free shipping on most orders. Shop for all your audio and video needs at Crutchfield.com and sign up for the catalog and email newsletter at www.crutchfield.com

    I'm looking to replace my old Onkyo 6 Disk CD player (circa 1994?) for 2 reasons : 1) The better DAC in the Yamaha & 2), this unit has USB port to play flashdrives (which btw, does the USB support FLAC AFLAC files?). Alternately, Can I keep the Onkyo (plays great through my older NAD 1300 Preamp and NAD 2600 Amp), and obtain a device that will provide USB flashdrive connection - not a PC ? I'm a novice when it comes the digital formats at 69 YO. But I'm learning. THX

    @@crutchfield Adding to my previous response, I see that in your another video description of the single CD version CD-S300, there is a mention of iPhone and also the reviewer mentions the connectivity with any apple device. ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZnicpbaCgNCcnto.html ) Apart from this, your product page of CD-S300 clearly indicates iPhone, ( www.crutchfield.com/S-DdhR6nWTlcY/p_022CDS300/Yamaha-CD-S300.html ) Both CD-S300 and CD-C600 have the same port USB/iPod on their front panel and hence, if one supports, ideally the other player has to. why do these CD player reviews always mention drivel about "skipping", as if that were actually a thing? When the $25 CDR drives were common on PCs, they could rip the entire bitstream from a CD at 52x playback speed, with no errors. If you ever took the front door off the drive, you could see the disk visibly wobbling while it was doing so, so it obviously coped with physical vibrations just fine.

  • @middle_pickup

    @middle_pickup

    Жыл бұрын

    Skipping happens because players are typically more rudimentary than PC's. They don't store much data in buffer, and when the data read is interrupted for a long enough duration for the player to playback all the data held in memory you're left with blanks in the audio signal until the buffer gets new data. I haven't personally heard a CD skip since my discman days though. It's likely that since flash memory is so cheap nowadays that the buffers have grown in sizes rendering audio dropouts a thing of the past. It's still possible though.

    Better this tray system than the cassette alternative that transports the disc through rollers. I have no issues with mildly scratched discs in my CD C-600. The tray is designed to hold 3" discs, so there is reduced contact area with full size discs anyway. The best use of these multi players is in a 'party' environment... load it up and lock it away from anyone holding a drink.

    I would say plenty of younger people will have started out at the tail-end of the DVD period. Most people have never tried (UHD) Blu-Ray at home. Most of the people buying their first CDs nowadays are the same sort of people that bought the extremely cheap vinyl in the early 2000's. Young people. And I've seen several of these online for about €100-€150 second-hand. That's a great deal.
