all yall talking about "making oil" don't understand what this guy is talking about. this happened to me today, and buddy, that oil/gas solution shot out the dip stick tube 4 inches. time to order rebuild kit for the low pressure pump! thanks for this video dude it absolutely confirmed my issue if only you were on the river with me today, it could have saved me a heart attack 😂

The low-pressure fuel pump for F115A is driven by the camshaft, so if anything is damaged to the pump seals or gasket it will happen like this. Just order all new seals and gaskets, replace them and you should be good to go.

@@Solofisherman would that pump possibly cause excessive oil usage? I don't have gas in the oil but the motor is using up excessive oil

My 2005 F115 is doing this, I ordered a new diaphragm to rebuild the pump, hopefully that fixes it 🤙🏼

Update, my 2005 F115 was doing this so I rebuilt the fuel pump and changed the thermostat and it’s fixed now, if the motor can’t get up to temp it can’t burn off the fuel correctly and will dilute your oil.

There is a diaphragm only that can be purchase rather that the entire pump. Easy peasy to replace. Yamaha is telling customers that have an engine that 'makes oil' to run it hard for an hour to seat the rings in. Crazy info out there.

Thank you for the video. Where did you buy the new pump? Yamaha pumps cost more than $100. Thank you.

  • @Solofisherman

It was a golden color. There was no mistake because the oil was very thin and smelled like gas.

Making oil best way to notice this is happening is to fill oil just below full mark if it ever gets to full mark you know you have fuel in oil.

All you do is pull dipstick and smell. You'll know if fuel is in crankcase. I'm on a. F 250 Yam now with fuel in crankcase. It's not uncommon

Okay so I have spent lots of time researching this MAKING OIL ISSUE and the primary culprit is this poorly designed fuel pump that is used on both Yamaha and Merc 4 stroke machines. (Alcohol breaks down the diaphragm of the pump and allows fuel to pass thru the diaphragm) If you have a primer bulb, pull the fuel pump off and squeeze the bulb and if fuel flows out when the pump is off the motor and away from the engine, then it is the fuel pump replace it with the cheap one from ebay or communist outfit Amazon....however if it is not the fuel pump then apparently there is a vac hose that sucks oil into the crankcase that runs thru a chamber that has oil in it can't remember exactly where it does this but it is traceable. Finally another source is the pressure regulator...that can stick and do it as well. Other reasons could be a poor break in period so rings did NOT seat before use of synthetic oils which prevent rings from seating properly...fix is to drain sythetic oil and put dino oil in and do a fast idle for a few hours to properly seat the rings...then replace with synthetic again. If the oil raises very slowly, it could be building oil because the engine does NOT get hot enough to burn it off, and that fix is a slightly hotter thermostat...this happens particularly if the motor never gets very warm...short runs etc. FYI...hope this helps.
