honestly being a home cleaner after people die, you would be surprised at how many house built before 1950 have hidden rooms or trap floors for hiding valuables. the best is when the family or estate says what ever is left is yours or it goes to the charity ... found some wicked green back stash and old coin collections that paid more than my rate 😅 the best find was some 1940s baseball cards and a Ww2 issued 1911 !

I work in estate sales for a living and the amount of times people have told me to just throw away family photos, family tree books, family history books, folded flags, even URNS. It would make you sick. I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it first hand for years now. And I’m new to the industry…. My step mom has some sad stories about people just killing off their family history in a single trash bag. We’ve saved a lot but really what good is some random persons family history, especially considering the remaining family wanted to throw it in the garbage. Makes me wish I had more to hold onto!

I grew up in Grosse pointe park Michigan, and there is a road called middlesex that all houses on it were owned by the tocco family. during the prohibition days tunnels were made, stairs that open up into hidden rooms etc. there’s only been a few stories that covered it back in the 90s. And there’s still a strong presence of the family living on that same street. I work in estate sales for a living and the amount of times people have told me to just throw away family photos, family tree books, family history books, folded flags, even URNS. It would make you sick. I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it first hand for years now. And I’m new to the industry…. My step mom has some sad stories about people just killing off their family history in a single trash bag. We’ve saved a lot but really what good is some random persons family history, especially considering the remaining family wanted to throw it in the garbage. Makes me wish I had more to hold onto!

I grew up in Grosse pointe park Michigan, and there is a road called middlesex that all houses on it were owned by the tocco family. during the prohibition days tunnels were made, stairs that open up into hidden rooms etc. there’s only been a few stories that covered it back in the 90s.
