Dal, have you seen Anderton's economics textbook? I think he is referencing you when he slags off 'some people' who think percentage of income is a factor in determining elasticity...screw him anyway, only one God of economics

What happens if you have a question that says sales were at say 500, then sales fell to 400. Then the price was reduced, and sales went up to 510?

if smthing costs £1 then a 10% increase means a price of £1.1 likewise if smthing costs £10 then a 10% increase means a price of £11 and you obv can buy more for a £1

Aren't necessities elastic as people will still buy them because they are needed for human survival? Also for addictive isn't it elastic as people will still buy it if they are addicted to it?

Price inelastic demand means that demand is not very responsiveness to a change in price. This is where you are going wrong, therefore in both cases you mentioned, demand would be price inelastic
