His full title is "Medicine Master Lapis Lazuli Light Tathagata," also known as "Medicine Tathagata" and "Great Medicine King Buddha." He is the lord of the Pure Lapis Lazuli World in the East. The "medicine" in his name signifies healing the heart and liberating from the cycle of reincarnation. He made twelve great vows to relieve the suffering of all beings. In Buddhism, Medicine Buddha is regarded as the guardian deity of those who make offerings and is also considered one of the gods of wealth. He is believed to cure diseases, bring health and longevity, as well as wealth and good fortune. His teachings not only protect physical well-being but also serve as a potent remedy for the mind.
