    I always use "to" for "speak" and "with" for "talk". You might say that either one is fine, but I feel like that "to" would suit "speak" and "with" would suit "talk". This is because "speak" is kind of one-way and "talk" gives me a feeling having a comunication with someone.

    Good question!! I hope this helps!

    A: "I can tell you like her, but I can’t tell if she feels the same way. I could tell her you like her, but it's hard to predict what might happen. When I told it to her, she asked why you didn't tell her yourself. I told that you're too nervous around her to express your feelings." B: "Oh, I never told you to do that. I need to prepare myself for the tragedy. What should I say to her? Actually, I think it would be best if I didn't say anything at all. How are you Nick? I enjoyed watching this video. Please check my some examples. I said yes to them. I said I was sorry to hear that to her. She said shut up to him. I told him I got off at the wrong station and then was late for school. She told him when they get home tonight . She told him who’s coming to the party tomorrow. He told her the train was running late 10 minutes. I can’t tell the difference between pork and beef. I can’t tell when she is getting better. I can’t tell if she takes part in the party tonight. You’re the best teacher I have ever met.

  • @nicwilliamson

    @nicwilliamson

    Wow! Great examples!!😃👍 細かいところを直しておきます^^ ・She told him when they get home tonight . ←この2つの文の時制は合ってないので、 She told him when they got home tonight. と過去の話にするか、 She's going to tell him when they get home tonight. と未来の話にするかですね。 He told her the train was running late 10 minutes. を → He told her the train was running 10 minutes late. とlateの前に10 minutesを入れるのが正しいですね。 ・I can’t tell if she takes part in the party tonight. ← she takes partは「普段」を表す現在形ですが、tonightは「今」か「未来」になります。 I can’t tell if she's going to take part in the party tonight. が正しいですね 「もし」の「if」は未来のことを現在形で言うけど 「かどうか」の「if」は未来のことを未来形で言います。 このことで、同じように間違える人が多いですね^^ I hope this helps!
