To Sandra Mora; I don’t know how you reached to this old Japanese song. This song is called 'Sakurai no wakare' which means Farewell in Sakurai. and was made in 1903. The lyrics are a historical story in the era when the Japanese imperial family was divided into two just before the Kamakura period. The content of the lyrics is the father, Masashige KUSUNOKI who goes to the last battle to prepare for defeated to Takauji ASHIKAGA who later took a central figure in the Kamakura period. This battle is called ‘Battle of Minatogawa’ , KUSUNOKI side was overwhelmingly disadvantage which had only 1/20th number of soldiers. Masashige tries to persuade his son, Masatsura not to go further together with him, but this young son does want to fight the last battle with his father. But this father hands over the sword that Emperor gave to him to his son as a memento, finally this young son decided to go home hopelessly and going in different directions each other. Likewise, this is such a beautiful song full of sad and sacrificial spirits with samurai manners and very Japanese. This song was very popular among the school students until the end of the war. I think this explanation would be just little bit too long, though I hope you understand this sad story.
