Think you can go back to HK if you are looking for cheap and good things. In hokkien we said ai pi ai ho (like cheap like good), sorry no such thing in Singapore. For Japanese food, if you want quality then you have to patronize a proper Japanese restaurant. Food court has Japanese food stall but not the standard you will like but they are comparatively cheaper and there is no additional 17% charges. For computer or electronic products, local will go to Sim Lim square, Challenger or go online to source for it. For cosmetic and skin care products, we’ll get it from the mall, Sephora or online. Some shops in heartland mall do carry parallel import hair care products and they are cheaper in price than those sold by hair salon.

你说的这些都是属于奢侈品和享受性服务。在先进国家，这类东西和服务都必须缴消费税的，新加坡当然也不例外。你觉得这些东西都比香港贵，是因为你在香港不必缴交你应该付的消费税咯！比起很多先进国家，新加坡的消费税不算高了！有没有发现新加坡的基础设施建设很好、很完善、很人性化？新加坡人多么贫穷，都有自己的房屋居住，不必住劏房，甚至睡街头。最近新加坡的加薪幅度都是以最低薪阶层加最多，经理级暂时不加薪。香港的加薪方式刚好相反，高官加最多，越底薪阶层越少！新加坡比较保护照顾弱势家庭与群体。贫富悬殊的情况没有香港这么严重，当然社会问题也没有香港这么多与复杂。要维持一个国家安全稳定是需要成本的，所以一切物价高低，生活费用的涨幅，都必须有适当的平衡。才能够维持整体上大多数人民的权益保障与公平。这方面新加坡肯定比香港做得到位，对吗？

Yes I think they don’t know where to buy. Singapore is much cheaper than Hong Kong. Food, transportation, housing etc 医食住行样样都便宜过香港。

无论怎么比，也没用。即来之则安之。新加坡给你的不是贵或便宜的问题。新加坡给你的是安全感，给你信心。我们有好政府为人民服务。

@@seanleaf4596 每5年我们投票一次，开票日，我们都很紧张每一区的选票，看到半夜。深怕执政党败给反对党。我只希望有一些反对党进国会监督执政党，但不希望推反他，因为他们做得很不错。

黎新加坡頭一兩年完全有你地既感受。物價貴、有唔習慣既事情，但真心長遠黎睇呢度係較宜居，尤其當你地有小事朋友後，更會感受到！ 呢兩三年我買野都係shopee,online site 買多，化妝品護膚品都係呢….要去門市就真係等大減價先買到呢！

大部分人都會認為在新加坡賺的和花錢的比例還算是很不錯的，至少打工的話還可能可以省到一筆錢。我是馬來西亞的，之前也去新加坡打工。比如新幣3000的薪水，可能花個5塊可以吃個飯了，還有額外可以存下來。相較如果在馬來西亞，3000馬幣的薪水，同樣的飯菜可能要付10塊 15塊。。。。 🌚🌚更不用說存錢了

個別案例，每個人情況不一樣。我沙巴這邊3000馬幣薪水的打工仔是買不到房的喔，當然有的人是可以的，所以我很羨慕。至少我自己的例子是真的在新加坡比較存得到錢（按照賺錢和花費+存錢的比例來看的話）

马币3千要买房？什么房？廉价或中价屋还有可能，不过要等到申请成功也是超级难的。公寓，排屋，你想买银行肯定都不贷款给你，扣除公积金，汽车贷款和其它消费，你还有多少钱供楼？

Presently, i am still living and working in HK… i am sure that cost of living in HK is still way more costly then SG in terms of public transport, rental, meals and groceries. Though Chinese goods are cheaper but when comparing the quality to those for export, it seems there are differences in quality (not those bot on line).

There are many varieties of bfast here. Chinese: Bee hoon, fried Carrot Cake, fishball noodle... Etc Malay: Mee siam, Mee Rubus, lontong, nasi leak... Indian: Roti Prata...

我是台灣人，我不覺得新加坡物價有比香港高，消費稅日本泰國都有收，台灣也有加10%服務費，在新加坡就不要常吃高級餐廳就好，你看影片的hawker center 一份才5.5新幣，香港都48港幣以上了吧

问题是新加坡那服务就不该收服务税，店里跟本谈不上有什么服务，一个个摆臭脸好像你欠他们钱一样，让人感觉自己是去花钱受罪而不是享受的。在中国不用付消费税，但是大部分地方的服务业人士都是很敬业的，低眉顺眼，有求必应。

新加坡政府有加入口税的，所以每样东西都比较贵。到你年尾要交个人税时，新加坡的优点来了。

初步推段Ruby因為早餐唔岩食所以平時要訓晏d，再晏d🤭 ✌🏻

其实coffee shop都有好多早餐食物 , hawker center 更加多早餐食物.

🐮 yeah 有廣告贊助！ 其實香港都好睇地區，有D地方都未必樓下就有茶記既😆 睇你點取捨，想住得靜D定方便D

吓，新加坡點都平過香港 食，hawker center 平到笑；香港求其食過茶餐廳又貴又唔好食 住，買同租點都新加坡平 行，counting by distance fare又平一截 10年前住新加坡經驗，呢十幾年香港啲野貴到死，應該俾十年前再大差距？

Actually the most common breakfast for Singaporeans are probably economy behoon, wanton noodles or carrot cakes , not kaya toast. These can be found in any hawker centre or coffee-shop in the morning

To add on to the list: Mee Siam, Mee Rubus, lontong, Nasi lemak, Putu piring Putu mayam Apom vegetarian noodle, chee cheong fan, bak chang, curry puff, soon kueh, chwee kueh, roti prata, Roti john, prawn noodle, bak chor Mee, porridge with you tiao, Bao & siew mai yam cake, peanut pancake, peng kueh, soon kueh, Ham chin pang with red beans or the salty type, Kueh chap - All these are easily found in any hawker centre, food court and coffee shop all over Singapore. Explore Tiong Bahru Market hawker centre, Ghim Moh Market hawker centre, Telok Ayer Hawker Centre, Bedok Hawker Centre, Chinatown Hawker Centre and so many more. You will be spoilt for choices as we have not only Chinese food but we have Malay and Indian food as well.

@@BiscuitGodHK This list is only a small sample. SG breakfast is not only Kaya toast and soft boiled egg. Don't just limit yourselves to Ya Kun. Go and explore the neighbourhood kopi tiam and hawker centres and try out and adapt to the endless choices of typical SG breakfast.

剛開始看你們，很喜歡你們。我曾在新加坡生活了五年，已完全習慣當地的生活。自從回香港生活後，也會每兩年回新一次的，可是但從疫情後已經兩年多無回新了。

Even with max GST plus service charge total 19% is way cheaper than hongkong. S'pore housing is 20% cheaper than your hk in middle range. Income tax is only 1 to 2% more than hk due to u r foreigner but if u r PR or citizen is 5 to8% cheaper than hk. Sg is way cheaperin terms of eating cos hawker cemtre. Daily needs is cheaper tham hk. Unless u go for high end esting house near CBD area or if u fogo cheap public transport n buy cars in SG is u ask for it. Rental can be cheaper if u all choose rent HDB over condo cos condo is only 5 to 10% cheaper than hk base on size but HDB is 20% cheaper than hk. U all should know what is a 'must need' n what is extra 'not that much need' u all can choose expensive or inexpensive lifestyle u wan base on your income

本地人有同住父母 祖父母 免稅額可以很高 所以來到新加坡 作為外國人要繳的稅會比在香港高很多 不過我仍然未繳第一次新加坡的稅 但在香港去年都不用繳稅 因為政府很多時還有退稅 我覺得新加坡進口產品都很貴 因為香港沒有GST 然後有很多人 會part time 進口產品到香港賣 所以外國進口的產品就會跟當地價錢差比較少。 這是近5-10年才發生 香港現在買日本的東西 有時比日本當地還要便宜

Having lived in both locations, I find Singapore has more cheap options to choose from (for example, SGD 3 hawker meal) and HK has less. However when going for more exquisite stuff (example fine dining), price in HK is lower.

如果不算对换率 新加坡的物价算便宜了

我哋新加坡係平時鐘意casual 女方好多鐘意穿Tee shirts,短褲 而男方 都係Tee Shirt 同埋 不唔記得這樣叫了 那個褲長度的knee cap 的又或者背心的因為這裡好熱，而新加坡人怕熱新加坡咪嘢都charge 7%GST,10% services charges的 工錢就冇加的 你哋可以去香港茶餐廳的新加坡都有的裡面有賣，出前一丁，凍奶茶，波羅包，雲吞面(湯),燒賣，叉燒包等等。 地址係 Northpoint centre (south) #興旺茶餐廳 #xingwanhongkongcafe 我兩個禮拜會去一兩次的

因為所有的東西就算是“進口/import”啦！肯定貴的...

Having travelled to both countries and stayed for similar durations previously, I like HK food scenes as it's really a wider variety and more authentic (even the Malaysian food in HK) and the public transport coverage (there are still many places in Singapore that you need to walk 500m to get a bus) but house prices here are still lower if you can live further out of CBD/town area. 乖乖听话 nope. Just that we don’t argue for the sake of arguing. We have our means to settled our dislike or displeased with the govt in a peaceful manner that don’t bring disruption to the general public and to the economy. However looking at the result from our govt, Singaporean are generally satisfied with their performance.

去so good茶餐廳～算係可以搵到香港既味道，比sg既翠華平^^clarke quay就有翠華，雖然真係比香港貴超多….但我覺得如果真係好掛住都可以去飲下奶茶既🥲🤣

@@danieljames460 Hawker centres的东西吃着不错，看似物美价廉，其实很不健康，用的都是劣质/转基因的食材+植物油+高糖高盐，长期吃对身心健康的损害是非常大的。我怀疑新加坡路边之所以有很多皮肤和精神看起来不那么健康的人，就是因为从小每天吃hawker foods吃成那样的。

其實新加坡有好多早餐選擇，唔止kaya toast同個半熟蛋。去hawker center有好多嘢比你揀。我自己早餐就好中意食菜頭粿，水粿，印度薄餅，腸粉等等。 。 。同埋我覺得比起香港，新加坡食嘢比較平？因為香港食個lunch可能都要差唔多HKD5／60 甚至有時會去到7／80蚊但係新加坡hawker center就可以可能SGD5就食到個lunch

hawker centre SGD 5 係平…啲飯比較大份囉料就相應少，樣樣都勁多醬俾你撈飯食；但講真性價比香港好點，係貴少少但啲料會足啲，雞肉大大份都有食材味道（ 伸利係新加坡食過雞飯得4塊薄雞肉🥹🥹）

如果以當地物價指數來講，新加坡買酒未算貴，馬來西亞買酒仲貴

As a HK tourist, I also notice HK people love wearing track shoes than slipper. I think the reasons being uneven surface along the shop’s corridor and long distance of walking before we can even reach the place. And usually hangout late than going back home early due to smaller flat owned. Yes, I do shop for toys and handbags in HK as they’re much cheaper which I think because it’s manufacturing from China and it’s next door hence it’s benefiting in low shipping cost.

I think it has got to do with the weather and air pollution level. Not forgetting the social Influence of the two cites.

今年的银行储存年利率是3.8到3.9%per annum. 这是12年来最高的。有＄10000以上的话现在放银行最划算。

I am a Sg guy that lived in HK from 2010 to 2020. I agreed that what raised up are very true. Japanese/live seafood/Tim sum (restaurant standards) are a lot cheaper in HK for the same quality, my 15kg weight increase since I moved there is the best proof. Sim Lim Square's prices & product availability are also no where near HK's Golden (高登). It is my favourite haunts besides 鸭记 The things that I can think of that are cheaper here, hawker food (versus 香港大排档) and housing. Quite surprised to hear Hong Kongers complain about housing here, probably cos you came here after the recent hike. You can still rent a HDB 4rm unit of 100m2 for >S$3000 now. 2 years back, it was only $2000. FYI, a HDB 4 room flat price shoot up like 15 to 25% since 2020, eg my CCK flat, from 350k to 450k now. After many years in HK's 4 seasons weather had made me appreciate our tropical weather. Summer is really hot in HK, same 35 deg C there will bring out all your sweat in 10 minutes. Winter is another pain in the neck, 降温, can be a difference of up to 10 degrees within a day. I travel regularly for work to the greater bay area, 3 to 4 days normally, and have to bring more clothing than my annual 7-10 days Thailand vacation. HK & Sg are identical cities, it should not be difficult to adapt if you are willing to accept here as your 2nd or new home. Good luck in Sg!

香港有中国供应食物，鲜蔬菜，鲜鱼肉 ，还有各种各样的生活用品，IT 产品，所以食物用品价格肯定比新加坡便宜的! 我们新加坡就缺了这么一个大靠山! 还是香港人幸运，比我们有福气得多!!

香港物資有中國廣東深圳support兌換率也不差很多。 新馬兩個國家按正常貿易交易，兌換率三倍，加上關稅，車油，等成本，沒辦法啦！ CBD 如果會有五金鋪，不是租金貴死就是沒生意虧死！

位於無風帶…..懷念香港打風的日子。食物碟頭比香港小很多，唔多夠份量。

Don’t think so. I went to a public hospital A&E for a possible heart attack. Including scanning and bed and other costs I was charged $75. I checked the medical consultation for after office hour of 養和is Hk$560 which more than S$100.

Education is expensive affair here in Singapore. However if you choose to stay in private condo or eat in cafe and restaurant, travel around in Grab or taxi, buy your groceries from high-end Cold Storage or Mediya, definitely there will be no saving

SG isn't as convenient as HK in terms of buying groceries.... In HK there are many mainland chain stores that sells groceries.... And most are very inexpensive.

Why not easy to buy groceries? Ntuc are in every heartland malls and there are groceries shops near heartland hawker centre

@@gotmyonu1027 oh, maybe i should put it as why not convenient to buy groceries then. Heartland grocery shops carry goods mainly from China and are also not expensive.

I disagree that it’s inconvenient to buy groceries. We are usually within walking distance to buy groceries from our hdb flats. But if it’s about the price, we don’t know how cheap is cheap in HK so not sure.

@@RUBYBENSON 你不必因为在新加坡而学singlish. 应该坚持 English. 不是所有的新加坡人说Singlish, 你常听到，可能是因为你接触小贩和外劳服务员的原故。小贩能从方言/华语背景去学英语，全属不易，所以他们说不好英语。不应该向他们学习英语。如果你坚持说英语，不说一句Singlish, 你身边的人是不会和你说Singlish的。如果你发觉你身边的同事都说Singlish, 那就说明你身处的同事环境是一般般的。

@@RUBYBENSON Annual interest is given to CPF accounts and the interest rate is even very much higher than commercial banks’ fixed deposit.

@@M.K-52200 but still, u can use those money on your Housing and Medicinal ways , we can’t even USE the MPF (CPF in hk) , MPF is like throwing into Ocean LOL

@@RUBYBENSON In fact CPF can also be used for other purposes such as certain study loans and certain investments though the authority does not encourage using CPF money for investments as most people suffer losses. The other main purpose of having CPF as it acts as retirement funds for old age. Interesting to know about MPF, just curious why is it so?
