​@@CherryBlossomBlyue soup is still nice thing warm and tasty it is nutritious. Many vegetables are better to eat in soup than in salad actually they are more nutritious that way. I think Xu's mother won't sell trash food. She doesn't look like that type of person. So I am pretty sure it was totally normal soup. His parents are just all in themself like he its food I didn't agree to him to eat? Trash.

His Mother throwing out the soup is so symbolic of just how dismissive his parents are of Ye Guang's true needs and desires. IF we ever got a season 2, I think him explaining to his parents that he's in love with a male singer in a band, from a single-parent home, who grew up in a noodle shop, would be most interesting to watch. After all the selfish "where did we go wrong?" lamenting, they would have the choice of (1) disowning their only child , (2) taking his cell phone, changing his school, and putting him on home arrest, or (3) joining the millions of parents worldwide who have had to learn that WHO your child loves is not in your control. What IS in their control is whether they can love and accept this handsome boy and his incredible choice of a sweet, humble, hard-working and compassionate boyfriend. A boyfriend that would, ironically, probably not hesitate to help care for them as they grow old.

Yes I have now seen it 😊 But what also annoyed me, was that he did not talk back to them, explaining before the very end. I know it has to do with the Asian way to be raised, but my god I was so pissed over the parents and him just taken it and not standing up for him self🤷‍♀️

"where did we go wrong?" - I think it's wrong where they talk to their son but only have themselves in their head. Sadly, that behavior is common among Asia parents. They act self-centered and selfishly, then using love and goodwill as excuse; but I bet ya they would flip and deem their child as ungrateful when they themselves receive the same "love" and "goodwill".
