Agreed….X was way younger than my generation but I respect what he was talking about and his talent. It’s a shame he never got to show us his transformation into being a good person and how open he was about his struggles and how he was trying to do better and was doing better and boom he was taken out. Drake is a throw a rock and hide your hand type of person. I hate them type of people. My grandma would warn me of those type of people. Damn shame.

I think some of the anger from Kendrick towards Drake stems from XXX. He was a fan of X and told people to listen to his music and brought him out on his tour to perform a couple songs. Everyone knows Drake hired them boys to shoot X. He was afraid X was coming for that crown and fast and he WAS!!! Drake does a couple genres of music but X did all genres of music and he had a big male following and female following and Drake’s fans are mostly women. I really don’t hear dudes waiting for the new Drake album to drop. Most men I know don’t care for his music anymore….they used to, but now mostly they listen to it cause their girl listens to Drake. Nas once said ”…no idea is original, nothing new under the sun…” this is corny. As a rapper myself back in the days i used to come up with flows and realize later that i had been inspired by someone else. It can happen without even knowing. Let me put it this way, as long as artists put out music, this will always happen

There's a difference between being inspired by something/ paying hommage to an artist and straight up taking a piece of it without credit or permission. That's similar to comparing a clever sample that sounds different to a cover of a song that sounds the same
