@Insert Name Here There were plans by FC Bayern to modernise the stadium for the WC 2006. It was to be completely roofed over and enlarged (75,000 seats). In addition, 150 boxes and further comforts for wealthy spectators were to be added. In Germany, there is a copyright for the architect of a building, he or she has to agree to changes in the building‘s structure. The architect of the Munich Olympic Stadium did not agree to the conversion plans, so it could not be extended to meet the requirements of a WC. For this reason, FC Bayern built a new stadium, the Allianz Arena. Nevertheless, the Olympic Stadium is still used intensively; it is an architectural monument that will always be preserved. The concrete structure has already been extensively renovated in many places and the tent roof has also been completely renovated. I love the Olympic Park in Munich, I think it is one of the most beautiful and spectacular ever created for the Olympic Games. It still looks like the park is a concept from the future. Who knows, maybe one day the Olympic flame will return to Munich, the park would definitely deserve it!

Yes, this Olympic Park was way ahead of its time! I can even imagine that, with some adjustments, the Summer Olympics could be held there again. Fun Fact: The landscape was formed from the rubble of the city destroyed in WW II.
