Xu Xin is actually short-sighted, wearing glasses when not playing table tennis. He only started to wear contact lenses in 2017. Can you imagine how he played before that? It's pure talent.

Players like Xu Xin bring people to the game. People watch to be entertained and Xu Xin is an absolute trickster in the pro scene.

The last point is absolute ridiculous. Can't keep count of how many 'round the net shots they made just in that one point. And how they returned the ball into the table is just beyond crazy.

Xu Xin might not be the GOAT. But he's for sure the most entertaining player in the 21st century so far. Every sport needs a player of this type, and he will for sure be missed when he retires.

I would say that Joo Sae Hyuk is also one of the most creative and entertaining players of all time. And Simon Gauzy is the most similar player to Xu Xin since his retirement.

And there is a new Chinese chopper who was trained by ma long at some point named Sun Yang, and if he manages to keep up the grind and grow to the highest level, might be a contender for the most entertaining player.

He is the goat of doubles. Koki Niwa is also very entertaining.

Going to miss Xu Xin so much when he retires. He adds so much entertainment value to the sport... really one of a kind and I wonder how long before a similar star will emerge. TT needs more penhold/ RPB players to increase its spectator value

3:51 is one of the greatest moments in TT. The sync between Fan and Xu Xin is crazy, stupid spin on the ball, and Fan knows exactly when to move out of the way while still crossing the balls path. Unreal.

there are many great players, but he is the most talented and creative.

I’m trying to convert to Shakehand. Even with RPB, the 2 rubbers make the blade heavy. Gripping with thumb and index finger, you fatigue faster against shakehand in tournaments.

@@DaigoParry took me a while to find the most relaxed RPH grip but after you find it... Is even less tension than shakehand - everybody is different tho ( probably took 30hr of playing for fun before I found it )

I am an rpb player, I switched to penhold when I nearly gave up on tt after months of getting nowhere with shakehand. I can say I'm enjoying it 100 times more now, and my game improved drastically, the backhand is addicting (;
