xTool P2 Laser | #1 - Beginner meets Co2 laser and toothpick | Can this go well ;-)

Having already discovered printing with a 3D printer in the past, I have been toying with the idea of trying my hand at Co2 lasers for some time now. The possibilities offered by today's devices are simply so great that I would like to give free rein to my creativity. Now I've been thinking for a long time about what to do. A first attempt with a “strap-on laser” for my 3D printer unfortunately failed miserably. To be honest, I don't know whether it was me or the small mini laser. So I had to find something bigger and, above all, independent. I needed a device that was easy to use, even for beginners, because I need quick first successes to keep going...it's a bit like my inner Monk.
My research has shown that the variety of laser devices has increased immensely in recent years and that there are great devices for many applications in almost all price categories.
If you take these aspects together, it narrows down the choice somewhat - especially when it comes to Co2 lasers. KZread helped me with my selection and drew my attention to one manufacturer, namely xTool...
A look at xTool's portfolio revealed something for all price ranges, and in the end I decided on the Co2 Laser P2.
Reasons see above, plus the fact that acrylic can be lasered in all colors, which was not an exclusion criterion, but a nice to have.
Whether you call it a laser cutter or a laser cutter, whether you want to use it for laser engraving or laser cutting, no problem with the P2 - and above all no problem with the xTool P2 without having to deal with thousands of details. The fact that this also has its price, especially as a beginner, is of course just as much a fact as all the other aspects.
A few technical details:
With the P2, we are talking about a 55 watt desktop Co2 laser that can be used for cutting and engraving various materials. It has 2 16 megapixel cameras, which makes operation much easier and you can laser to an insane 0.3 mm accuracy (we'll take a look at this in the video).
Lasering is also possible on curved surfaces and with accessories you can process meter-long workpieces and also process glass and the like via rotary engraving. You can engrave at a maximum speed of 600 mm/s and cut up to 35 mm/s and up to 18 mm walnut wood. All this takes place on a work surface measuring 66 x 36 cm.
So, enough of the longest description text of my KZread career, let's move on to the series on the xTool P2, the biggest, heaviest and most expensive tech gadget I've ever bought and presented on this channel.
And as always, this video was created in German.
